I am kinda puzzled why himmel didn't go with frieren after there 10 year advanture. I understand why the writer of frieren made the story like this. But from a in lore perspective, i am always puzzled why himmel would let frieren go, especialy because frieren expierence time a lot different, what i mean with that is that, himmel spending 50 years with frieren isn't a big deal to frieren at all. (because of her long lifespan) Did himmel not join frieren out of respect and a form of self sacrifice, or i did he realise his mistake to late and couldn't find frieren anymore.

@@MijnAfspeellijst1234 He seems to have had his own responsibilities, or at least things he considered to be his responsibilities. A very important one that was introduced in this arc was researching the spell incantation that would activate the monument and traveling up north again to inscribe it on the monument for Frieren in the future so she’d have a way back. He wouldn’t have been able to accomplish something like that if he kept traveling with her. He also evidently checked in periodically with certain towns and villages they came across, like the one they saved Qual from. That’s not something that Frieren wanted to do at the time they began parting ways with each other, since she wanted to focus on finding new magic. I suspect he definitely would have offered to accompany her if he could have. One of the other commenters here also mentioned he may have had some diplomatic work in the intervening years, seeing as how he was the hero who led the party that slayed the Demon King, which is certainly a possibility. In my mind, the research into uncovering the monument incantation was reason enough to let Frieren go off on her own, since due to the events of this arc, he wanted her to be able to get back to her own time as soon as possible and didn’t know for sure when that would happen for her if he didn’t focus on it following the completion of their quest. From what we see in this arc, he didn’t manage to accomplish that task until he was old enough to appear as he did when Frieren finally returned to him nearly 50 years after their last parting, so that task obviously took a long time to complete. He wouldn’t have been able to help her in that way if he decided to travel with her.

I loved this arc cuz it proves that the hero party was in fact ridiculously strong even without frieren eisen being able to keep a great demon back not cuz its all he could do it is all he HAD to do. Heiter being able to withstand prob all curses demons could use considering the fact he was hit with a curse of a great demon. And of course their is HIMmel proved this whole arc why he is in fact the hero if of the heros party.

Yes, the last anime episode also reveled that the DEMON KING was powerful enough that even friren was pushed to the edge in the fight. And the her mana suppression did not fool him. And that she only won cause she had a good team.

@@braddl9442 i mean that is kinda obv if u read the manga. Minor spoiler Frieren is about on par with the upper great demons like macht and solitar and those same demons that are on frierens level work under the demon king (macht doesn’t really but he can be forced to do something from time to time) demons only do that if they are significantly stronger then themself aka the demon king. I speculate the demonking is someone on the level of serie and that he was defeated by the heros party through teamwork or he himself kinda self sacrefised

@@KungiTopW hmm i doubt it tbh i can be wrong tho but we genuinly haven't seen anything from the demon king and serie we can only assume as of now but its heavely implied that they are a cut above the rest. I still think that excluding serie herself macht is the strongest person we've seen

38:20 This fact alone already solidifies the sheer power the demon king must have had to even know this when he wasn't even nowhere near Frieren at the time 😮. He was just chilling in his castle and somehow knew that there will be a distortion in time and EXACTLY when this traveller came from, absolutely insane

@@nanadrawslot There is only one Frieren in this timeline. If you reread the first chapter of this arc, there is a reason why Demon king - era Frieren "lose" her consciousness for the entire week. It was later revealed that during this period, future Frieren "hijacks" past Frieren's consciousness.

This arc just basically confirmed to me that the DK most likely knew that he was gonna die and just went with it via Schlacts recommendation. Also, the demons definitely have plans in the background. Also, Grausam is most definitely alive in current time

How long do you think authors should have to write their stories? The author of Frieren has to publish a chapter every week and weekly authors tend to be the most stressed and overworked compared to authors who publish chapters monthly. I personally, feel like authors should be able to make their own schedule and publish their work whenever as long as it is in within a reasonable timeframe 💯.

The Commidic aspects of this Arc is also going to be one of the Best. Frieren all puffing up to her old Group just to, seconds late fall for a Mimic had me laughing way to hard. Man ur Work is amazing. I love how u tell this Story an the work you mustve had with the edditing etc. Rly pays of for us listening to it. Great Video thank you.

What stands out for me and I hope we get to see this animated is the fact we actually get to see the original hero party in action. Up until this arc, (with the exception of the opening of the whole series), we have only seen the party in hindsight. Here we get to see why they were so successful and why I presume the Demon King was felled by them. You see their precision, their cohesion as a unit, and Himmel's leadership within the group. This does more to establish how powerful these four were and how much of that comes from their reliance on each other.

I subscribed. I've been watching your videos particularly this series. I can only guess on how you make these videos but it's really good. I like listening more than reading since I usually like listening while doing some chores. Since the spell name was already engraved on the monument, it is safe to assume this time loop was always part of the timeline already Time travel can be a tricky thing to write, but the most cohesive way is this fateful timeline way, where no splits happen and loops to the past are already accounted for in the present. So I think nothing changed with El Dorado. That being said, Frieren's way to rationalise it when she realizes she's in the past could also indicate there could be more aggressive changes in the future depending on the case. I wouldn't be surprised if solitar prevented her own death after meeting with frieren back then. Buuuut I sincerely hope not, as I've seen writers corner themselves creatively when they decide to take that approach time and time again. Honestly that worry is already present with the demon that has future vision too.

I think this chapter‘s purpose was mostly to introduce us to the future enemies of frieren such as the demon that laid a curse to destroy their planet in 100 years from that point that frieren returned to time. If you think about it in the present time frieren is about 80 years after that point which means in 20 years, something catastrophic will happen. Also the illusionist demon that deleted machts memories of the fight with hero of the south who could see the future. Another obvious giveaway is the fact that the hero’s sword hasn’t been pulled from the stone which indicates it might be pulled in the near future from someone we have already seen.

But I believe like the comment above that the time travel in this arc didn’t have an effect in the current timeline. Nonetheless it still has some great plot potential in my eyes if it did manage to change the future

ok fan fiction time. in the manga we know that Frieren uses the goddess monument to go back in time by possessing her younger self and goes on an adventure with her old gang one more time. but think about it. that younger frieren does not remember anything the future frieren did during that time. what if future frieren finds another monument in the future and goes back again but this time has a life with himmel during those 50 years she was away and has a half elf child wirbel with himmel. so when wirbel comes to sit with frieren at the end of season 1 he knows she doesn't know who he is but still wants to give his mother words of comfort by telling her what himmels actions meant to him and other people. and the reason I came up with this whole crazy story is because I noticed wirbals hair color is a mix between frierens and himmels hair color lol
