God i miss those days even walking into Electronics boutique and seeing the big box games in the PC section. Then in early 00s seeing Warcraft and a whole shelf of it next to the Voodoo cards, Side winder sticks, Creative Labs sound blaster cards etc. Memories

Blast from the past. My friends and I had LAN parties in the late 90s, played MTG and DnD... this was like watching memories.

Rod rocking the highlighted mullet even pre-David Beckham! Those Subspace sounds effects sound like they were directly lifted from Descent.

My 1st online games were Interstate 76 over dial up, then Half-Life, and Quake 3. Amazing how they even worked on 56k

QUAKE was one of my favorite shooting video games during the late 1990s and it was the forerunner of DOOM. The unique thing about QUAKE was that one could either play it as a single player on the single computer or one could play it online as either team games or competition games. A bonus feature of QUAKE was that one could customize it after one has registered it.

This brings back memories, I have fond memories of playing Counter Strike with other kids through LAN at my high school in our computer room during lunch, those were good times.

Playing quake online is what got me good at typing. Kill someone, run to a corner, talk shit real quick, then go back to playing.

My first online game was the original Deus Ex. I used to play on a map where you could have your own little gun store!

My first “online” is a dial up Doom death match with a 28.8 modem. My first internet online was a service called Mplayer.com.

I prefer single player games with a good campaign, or playing side by side with a brother, friend and even wife. I grew up this way, it was cool to try this interaction when it was knew, but it's not for me.
