To correct those whom assumed I ripped this from The Computer Chronicles channel, I have not. I have originally obtained this from Archive, then and as it is public domain. As that channel to is not a official channel for The Computer Chronicles and a fan channel in it self. This was all way before that channel came into existence on KZbin and decided to follow the concept as well to share a lot of their episodes. If you compare time stamps from videos between their upload and mine, I have uploaded first, does not mean I deserve a golden sticker. However It also means I uploaded it originally vs the claim. I shared what episodes I really enjoyed on here in a means to just share what I enjoyed! (Plus their show is Public Domain anyway officially.) Take care!

Apple actually had tablet concept ideas in the late 80s, mostly the 1990s. They released a PDA device (touchscreen hand-held device, kind of like a Palm device) in 1993 and used the technology until 1997. It's called the Newton. However, even I am surprised that these companies were thinking about smart phones in 1994... I guess it's not horribly surprising because it's really a mini computer, but the fact that many of these didn't take off until Apple released the iPhone is a little bit surprising. You can see why though... (that phone looks like it's from 1987 xD)

Yeah in the later years Commodore really had some bad management, but their tech was really sound, too bad the Amiga CD32 never made too the US, and only got a very smell test release in Canada, it was due too the fact they could not pass some very stupid FCC regulations with the console, so they had piles of NTSC Amiga CD32 systems sitting in a Hong Kong warehouse, and had to eat that loss big time, which was one of the final nails in the coffin for Commodore. Some of those systems however do show up on eBay from time to time, but sense 90% or more of the software was written for the Pal Amiga CD32 so it's not worth buying sense it will not run proper without some mods, even though you can burn all the games on a normal CD.

Just checked on Wikipedia for the average indexed monthly earnings and it shows $23,753.53 for the yearly income in 1994. Also, the latest stats is for 2013 which shows $44,888.16. So can definitely see that 700 bucks was definitely a lot of money back in the day as it is still today.

Yeah, I remember the first computer my parents bought for us back in 1995. It was a Packard Bell Pentium-1 60 mhz, 4mb of ram, 420mb of hard drive, double speed cd-rom drive, 16-bit sound, 14.4k modem with a 14 inch monitor (and this was considered a fast computer). It cost us $2,000! In those days, it was common for many electronic stores to offer zero interest for 1 or 2 years on purchases so it was easier for many families to be able to pay off later.
@vangmx
@vangmx 7 жыл бұрын
Back in 1995, there was something called Prodigy that came with the computer. Didn't use it so we didn't have internet at first so we mainly used the computer for school work (because it came with lots of educational software and encyclopedias on cds) and of course, for GAMING. Haha. Then it was in 1996 that AOL (America Online) became super popular because it was probably the first time you got unlimited internet for a low price (other places you paid by the hour). I remember it was 20 bucks. That was when the internet really got popular. The speed wasn't great but it was still fun to go into chatrooms and talk to people from all over the world. That was my high school days. :)
