There was alot more of it there when I first seen it as a kid. 15-20 years from now it will be gone completely. Great video!!

There is also a concrete ship that can be seen off of Pelican Island Galveston, looking toward Texas City. S. S. Selma, oil tanker constructed by F. F. Ley & Company, in Mobile, Alabama on June 28, 1919. In 1992, the Selma was purchased by A. Pat Daniels, retired editor of the Houston Chronicle and Galveston Daily News. Through his efforts, the Selma has been recognized with a Texas Historical Commission's Official Texas Historical Marker,is listed on the National Register of Historic Places

Thank you so much for your story regarding SS Atlantus’ sister ship, the SS Selma. There is another concrete ship, the SS Palo Alto, same age, at Seacliff State Beach,California, which has broken apart in a storm in recent years. It forms a pier, which is now too dangerous to enter, though in decades past, it had been used as a dance hall.

I saw this thing on a trip to Cape May, New Jersey back in 2010 - at least, I think I did. It was on the ferry from Lewes, Del. The Cape Henlopen, I think it was.

My grandfather told me about this and my father dismissed it as an old man's crazy tale. How about that?
