5:10 ... MAJOR teaching moment (which you did touch on). In just a few seconds, Gosling acknowledges the friend; compliments and shows respect to her; involves her (even more, although she is stricken from the start); creates an ally; and redirects smoothly to his target. Flawless brilliance executed like a BOSS!

Hollywood portrayal is NOT reality. Many actors do NOT conduct themselves like this in real life. Instead, they are reading off a script and can be confident knowing that the actress is going to simply play her role and not take offense, and he has nothing to lose by being flirtatious, cocky, and whatever else. Saying he sat there for 2 HOURS, sounds like a sissified douche bag. Hollywood got it wrong! Plus, he kisses arse, doesn't construct his sentences cohesively, spontaneously, fluidly and instantly...he is ACTING. Observe the actors people model themselves after...they DO NOT CONDUCT THEMSELVES LIKE THIS IN REALITY. Even Will Smith in live videos struggles to construct sentences...Ryan says incoherent sentences, with gap-fillers that OOZE desperate attempts for VALIDATION. Saying things such as, "like", "you know", "um" and seeks validation from women in a bad way that makes him come across as needy. [You heard this from me FIRST! There are too many phony's who are parrots who talk the talk but do NOT walk the walk! As for Ryan watching that bitch for 2 hours is beyond borderline STALKER and CREEPY. Who on earth is genuinely confident and does NOT show glimpses of INADEQUACY? FACT: Most women will brush off guys when they are with a friend. Girls are clingy to their friends and very hard to separate.

@@sovereignion6802 Gosling's pitch is not "perfect." (Agree that the "sitting for two hours" line was ridiculous and out of character for a real player.) But he interrupted smoothly, and made it fun and exciting for the ladies. OBVIOUSLY, we are watching a film and a well-rehearsed script. The exact words are not important. The point is that the right combination of timing, teasing, complimenting, assertiveness, humor, and persistence -- delivered with the confidence of many successful experiences -- is "lethal." And it helps to be handsome, groomed, and stylish.

9:25 where you talk about how despite being rejected, he keeps trying playfully. The balance is key here. He hasnt given up as soon as she left, being a loser. But he isn't trying enough to seem needy. He is being playful, where it seems like a joke (which brings you out of the needy category) but also may be a turning point for her and she agrees (which brings you out of the loser who gave up category) Playfully tease/banter, push-pull, hot-cold works wonders. Girls just wanna have fun!

As a girl, I have to say that a lot of these pieces of advice might come across as obnoxious. A lot of women prefer more humility and naturalism than this "alpha male game" cliche. This is just a movie, and I'm not even sure it would work for Gosling irl if he wasn't famous. Also, it's not the best idea to just butt into just any conversation. Women can be really turned off by that. The key is to do it when you are *absolutely* sure they're not talking about something serious. Just make sure you're not interrupting or asserting yourself into a personal convo, because if you interrupt that and impose yourself, we're gonna have our guard up...Ask the women in your life for advice if you can. Alpha males think they understand us, but honestly they don't really.
@bruh-oz1fy Жыл бұрын
It might come across as obnoxious if you are imagining someone following rules by the book to learn game. It is more just observing game and applying it situationally in different circumstances with different girls accordingly. With confidence, it does wonders with girls. Humility and naturalism are great, but it isn't necessarily attractive enough to get the attention of any girl. It's great for a long-term relationship for emotional connection, not necessarily for sexual tension or attraction

So basically if you are being yourself (as Steve Carell) and being loser then the girls will not give a shit about you. But if you lie to them and tell them how confident and good you are (again this is a lie as Steve Carell’s character in the movie is a “loser”j then you will find love or girls for a night or two. So if you lie to them in the very first minute you see them you will be successful. My question is how can you expect that the girl is not lying to you when you do it at the vry beginning of the relationship?

"Girls" are children. Also, the person doing these things in the movie is the movie character, not the actor. This is someone playing a role in a movie. It would be better to either referring to the character or using a clip of Gosling being confident and sexy in an interview or somewhere else besides a film role that is scripted for him to take on certain behaviors. I have seen several interviews of him and he's pretty much a goof. Adorable, but still just kind of a goof. Intelligent and highly aware of the bullcrap involved in show business. He's just a guy who can act.
