I went to my friends house and watched the Conjuring (my first horror movie experience). We finished it at around 10 o'clock. After nodding off at around 12 my friend woke me up by accident at like 2. I had just been woken up and was extremely tired and all I could think about the movie. It turns out that he was sleep walking. I am not kidding when I say that he walked up the stairs slowly just like the girl from the movie who was being led by the ghost. On top of that, he kept moaning "MOM". Probably the scariest moment of my life.

The ending kinda sucked, or I mean the close to end ending when Ed waned to go but lorriaine was like "no don't do it without me" they did the same thing it the first movie but the roles were reversed. They could've come up with something better.

Melanie Del Wonder Maybe, but the movie is a sequel. So I guess they want to continue with the same concept as the first one. If the first movie was a hit, which The Conjuring 1 was, then they want to make sure they make the second one just as good or even better. And since it worked the first time I guess they thought it would work again, but in a differend scenario. I mean, the scene was kind of a reminder from the first movie, a reminder to show their love for each other. But of course they could have done it differently. But the scene did work with the plot and the story, so I guess they just went with it.

Aside from the plot, I really love Ed and Lorraine Warren. I think of the as a perfect example of a relationship goal and also It’s a great way to make two actors amazing friends. I'm so tired of scary movies resorting to "pop" scares, where something can only scare you if it pops out and makes you jump. There used to be an art in horror movies where the scares were provided by the sense of dread and terror associated with the scene, back when movies showed objects moving into peculiar places, or when sounds grew louder and such, now everything is boom! something jumps out, then ahh! something is in a reflection, theres no art in it anymore. I don't think filmmakers know how to properly scare people anymore. I kinda liked the way the first Insidious movie was made though, there wasn't too many pop scares, there was a lot of creativity in their method of creating terror. The Babadook comes to mind as a perfectly done horror movie. Another thing about these conjuring movies is that its well known that the Warren couple were hoaxers and liars. Even people originally claiming to have a haunting had disagreed with how the warrens seemed to add details to their story that didn't actually happen. And for goodness sake's, the real Annabelle doll was a raggedy Anne doll, thats what made her so scary was that Raggedy Anne dolls were in stores everywhere and people were afraid they'd pick up an Annabelle for their child. I'm not a hater of this movie, its just that I wish scary scenes made sense, but audiences don't seem to mind that the movies don't make sense, as long as they get their fill of the Jack-in-the-box scare method.

Its a 70s Australian film, I was personally a bit unsettled by it because everything is so unexplained and left me figuring out what happened so it plays with your mind a bit. You'll definitely either like it or dislike it though, most people are like "huh?", everything's in the subtext :)

This is my all time favorite horror movie. I thought the constant point of view pans would be a stupid trope in this movie, but it actually turns out to be one of this movies strongest assets! It builds tension and anxiety while you wait for something to pop up. Watched it alone and couldn't even make it through the whole movie. I had to stop halfway through and watch the rest on the following night because it freaked me out so much. Such a masterpiece by James Wan
