Fun fact some people may not know: Joseph Bishara who plays Bathsheba, also is a composer and has done the music from everything to The Conjuring and Insidious, to Pretty Little Liars. On The Conjuring soundtrack, The song "In The Room Where You Sleep" written and performed by Dead Man’s Bones, is a band which features Ryan Gosling as the lead singer.

Your reaction style is very entertaining. I agree that the witch jumping from the wardrobe was the scariest moment in the movie. As for your furry friend, for some reason, cats love containers or squares/rectangles. If u lay tape, like masking tape, down on your floor in the shape of a square or rectangle, your cat will lay in the shape. They’re funny that way.

38:50 that goes along with the "real story" part. They're just telling the story that Ed and Lorraine wish they could. It's why they made such a good choice; as long as it's "real" they're immune to copyright.

Love your reaction, as usual 👍 You don't have to apologize for mixing up people, because I know people who have that as well. It's just a different way of processing :) So I was quite curious to see which scenes would "get" you and I was wrong with my predictions most of the time 😅 I didn't really consider this a very scary movie to be honest, but that may just be me. It was a pretty good movie though. I've watched so many scary movies that I might have become a bit desensitized. It could also be because I believe I've _lived_ in a haunted house. When you've experienced that, you don't really get scared as fast as others ;)

Conjuring is pretty popular these creepy days 😁That bus you like is a Volkswagen T2 (transporter 2), the "hippie van". The T1 looks even better. Back in the 70s and 80s they were everywhere and you could buy em for a couple of bucks, now they're expensive classics (especially the T1's).

On one hand I'm glad you're doing these, on the other, I hope you do some type of cardio because I don't want these to give you a heart attack 😅 I do like this movie, and it's scary for sure, but they rely a LOT on manufactured jumpscares, like the entity on the wardrobe and then jumping off, they have to give you an extreme camera zoom in with a loud noise playing, it would have been scary all on its own without doing that... also when it starts using a shotgun, it steps a tiny bit into campiness. But there is a lot that is great too :)
@cjonesufc Жыл бұрын
I just now realized the dad in this is the same actor from “Office Space”. Lol. Whimsory has the best movie reaction and breakdown videos. Her personality and charm go a long way towards an enjoyable presentation of all the effort she clearly puts into researching and creating these videos. The only times I don’t watch are when it’s a movie I’ve never seen. On a side note, as a musician and audiophile I’m super curious about the keyboard in the background. I find that many of the people who do reaction/breakdown videos of music, who are themselves musicians, use hand gestures that are as expressive as the faces they make. I could be overthinking it, but watching Whimsory speak about movies makes me think she actual does play. So does she? And if/so would she play for us?

The house and family are real. The events that occured are seriously exaggerated but things did happen. Ed and Lorraine Warren were not a big part. The father actually punched Ed in the face at one point. They actually continued to live in the house for several years, so obviously it wasn't drastic. Paranormal teams continue to pay to investigate there and have gotten some interesting evidence.

You can visit the real "Conjuring House", but I think you have to go through a whole thing to reserve with the current owners. Several paranormal/ghost hunter KZbinrs have done videos there. The events and the house are very different from the movie of course. Besides Ed and Lorraine's account, Andrea the oldest Perron daughter, wrote a book about it. Bathsheba Sherman did live there and apparently did claim to be related to Mary Eastey, though that's not confirmed. She was also suspected of killing a neighbor's child and her own, though that is also not confirmed. She also did not kill herself if her tombstone is accurate, she died in her 70's. It's been a while, but I think Andrea actually now thinks the entity that terrorized her family was the Sherman's neighbor, who did hang herself in the 1700's.

I'm pretty much in your court here. I don't find a lot that is relatable in the movie that was connected to the actual story(certainly not the doll), and I just think that there was a lot of reaching out for horror movie tropes that many were already familiar with. All in all, I found it as being "just another scary movie".
