Great video. I'm a little late to the party lol, but just signed up to do the Athens Marathon Pacer one. Hope to do a Conquerer one next. The medals are great incentives to finish!

Tardy to the party but I absolutely love conqueror. I am working on the lord of the rings trilogy - I finished the first challenge in about a year. The second one will take me about a year and a half. I could definitely do it faster if I linked a step counting device but I like manually inputting hikes only. The medal is gorgeous - and I love how the ring can be moved to the next medal so you "carry" the ring to mount doom. So much fun, and so motivating.

I’m considering the Star Trek complete 6 challenge bundle, as it’s a better deal than getting them individually. But it sounds like it could take years to do all 6? Are you able to adjust the challenge based on your abilities so it doesn’t take so long to complete one? I’m afraid if I take 6 years they won’t even have the medals available to send me. 😅

Thanks for a great video, informative and very enjoyable. I finished the Pyramids at about the time you completed Mt Fuji and I'm currently doing St Francis Way which is hugely enjoyable. For me it's a mix of walking and exercise bike. I agree with your comment that doing the challenge does push you to push your boundaries and does motivate you to go that little bit further. After St Francis Way I'm going to do the Pacific Crest Trail but give myself 18 months to do it. Intrigued to know which one you pick next and how you get on!

Thank you! I do try and make the videos fun and informative and it is good to know that it is coming across that way :) I have just completed another challenge and the video is coming up soon! Keep an eye out for the video ... I really want to do the English Channel and do that all by swimming. But quite honestly I would do them all! I think I will just slowly work my way through them :)

@@FlawlessPaws To be honest Alexandra your pace and time to complete Mount Fuji was so good I think you should up the ante and hit one of the bigger ones. It's such a great opportunity for self discovery. Will keep an eye out for other videos, hopefully just one of many more to come!

@@ianwebb1402 thank you Ian! Yes my next challenge was quite a bit bigger and I wanted to include more disciplines like SUP and kayaking but the weather just wasn’t good enough, sadly. So again I did the next one mainly walking and a bit of swimming.

That is great! I have loved doing these challenges so much that I finished the English Channel recently and I did it all swimming to make it more realistic. It really does challenge you even though you aren’t actually walking the same walk. Quite amazing :)

He looks so proud - he knows he's done something special he just doesn't know what. Is the street view on your phone or can you look at it on the computer when you get back. I have never used a fitbit and I am not very good with a mobile phone. I'm nervous about investing a lot of money into technology then not being able to get it working. Have you had any dealings with customer service or IT support?
@FlawlessPaws2 жыл бұрын
Support for conquerer is very good, lovely helpful people. FitBit is about £70-80 for the one I have. In terms of pc usage I am unsure whether you can log in and see it. I would email them just to be sure. support@theconqueror.events

Thank you for sharing what these challenges are like. Probably unrealistic for me to expect, but I was hoping it would have an associated video showing where you were walking, but I guess Google Maps access is their best approximate. Can you check it at any point as you are walking? Does the Google Maps image update along with you as you walk? I do like the fact that they say they plant trees. I wonder if anyone has ever gone to seek out and verify their trees.
@FlawlessPaws Жыл бұрын
So based on how many steps you walk it will update on the Conquerer app. If you click on the map then yes it updates as you go along
@mikegregory2492 Жыл бұрын
I don't think it updates in real time (unless I'm missing something) - I just starting using it via my Apple Watch, but it seems you have to press a button to update the app with your progress. A bit of a shame as it would be fantastic if it updated automatically as you run, even if it was every few minutes. You can see the location that you 'move' to once you update though.

Can I use a stair stepper if I don’t have a treadmill? *my son is in a wheelchair so I have to stay close to home for now :)
@FlawlessPaws2 жыл бұрын
I am sorry to hear about your son. Assuming your Fitbit/Apple Watch records steps as you workout on the stair stepper then yes that would record on the app and track your progress!

The Conqueror app tracks wheelchair exercise as well, you can see it in the preferences. Good luck!

I just signed up for the Dublin walk but I’m confused. Is this a virtual walk that I can see on my Ipad while I walk on my treadmill? Or is it just recording steps?

I have been doing these challenges this year, and they are mildly interesting but I'm done with them now. They've raised the prices again. Shorter distance ones are still 30. (for now), but mid distance ones are now 35., and the longer ones are 40. (and don't forget the shipping). I've done 9 of them pre-price change and I'm into it for 270. plus shipping, yeah, no, they aren't that interesting.
@FlawlessPaws Жыл бұрын
I would have to agree sadly - I enjoyed these challenges and collecting the medals and I have quite a few from the beginning but where times are changing this would be seen as a “luxury item” an unnecessary expense or a waste of money. The medals are great and the app is good - can’t deny it was a great motivational tool as I swam and walked through all my medals. However since the price has been jacked up I haven’t used the app and my motivation to take on new challenges has dwindled. My wish for @conquererchallenges would be to reduce those costs down or have a budget friendly range!
@rmo82679 ай бұрын
It's a cool idea and I'm doing some research to see if it's something I'll actually get benefit from but it seems like a waste of money to pay to do something I can do for free and collecting the medals just means bringing more junk I don't want/need into my house.

$30/$40 per challenge. No thanks. It sucks because i looked forward to it. :/

Proper actual (short, 5 km) races also have a registration fee and they are usually about that cost. But if you are strapped for cash, it is hard. I expect there is a version of these sort of things where you can download a certificate for free. Can't expect to get much else for free really.
@ELFCloudGamer Жыл бұрын
I think that's (unintentionally) part of the incentive. You don't want your money to go to waste.
@shep62772 жыл бұрын
Absurdly expensive when it doesn’t even have a video feed go along a trail. It’s a virtual overhead map. Yikes. There’s apps that follow an actual trail with a camera and it changes with your speed, for about $2 per trail. I can’t believe people pay this much for this app - per race! The “medal” is hypocritical too as it’s just future landfill. If you want a medal do an actual marathon or half. Even those you throw out, a medal for walking around your park is absurd, it’s “proof” of nothing - you didn’t actually walk Mount Fuji 🥴
