I’ve hit the gym, took care of my skin and started to style my hair with volume. My youngest brother asked me one day “how do get your hair like that…?” He was curious and he liked me so I showed him and he’s happy. That’s when I realized I wasn’t “ugly.” People were just projecting their insecurities onto me to make themselves feel better. And with my brother who’d belittle me it was almost like a competition in life against him, who could get their DL faster, pull the most females, who can dress better. I didn’t bother playing his games and just went my own way. Wore what I liked and presented myself as I wanted to. I didn’t know when people also in public would stare at me in my head I thought it was bc I was “ugly.” Or whatever my brother would say to me. But really when I stared at them back they’d look away like quickly. I thought they didn’t like me but it seems like the opposite. When I approach them they seem almost nervous and “scared.” And when I’d shake the dudes hand or say hi to their females it was always an aggressive look or feeling. I just thought I had did something wrong or something along those lines but no.
