I always thought the clown sightings were related to the annoucement of IT(2017), basically people remembered that clowns are scary, started dressing up as them and scaring people, it went viral and more people started doing it.

Thats in general a big problem with a lot of conspiracies. At the surface they seem harmless and seem to just question powers such as state or religion, but if you actually think them through they often lead to or imply massive racism, classism, ableism or promote things like eugenics. And then there are those that say that racism is actually the way the world is supposed to work and there are "better" races and people. This truly is a wild iceberg.

Watching this through for the first time, and oh man, the "Hollow Earth" and "GIANTS" running gags get me every single time I love it!

Some notes: -The Boy in the Box was recently identified as a toddler named Joseph Augustus Zarelli. We still don’t know how he ended up in the box, or what killed him, but the case is still being investigated -The theory about Titanic has a lot of evidence against it as well, & the name of the other ship was Olympic, *not* Olympia. -Despite the mentioning of Polybius during the Men in Black section, there is no mention of Polybius on the iceberg. It’s definitely worth looking into, though. Ahoy has a great deep dive video on it. -Synchronicity is worth doing more research on, it’s a really interesting concept. It also obviously inspired the album of the same name by The Police. -Erratas ended up being an ARG created by a musician by the name of DJ Roswell. It’s still really mysterious, though. -During the Faust section, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen is mentioned & it’s noted that the song has a story, which isn’t true. Freddie Mercury said in interviews that the song didn’t have a real meaning.

on reddit there are multiple people saying they knew someone who saw or personally saw oil pit squids in the 90s. they said the specimens were mostly small and white, and were stored in jars in a backroom at the facility, but that most of the waste they were found in was trucked off to a storage site. the management was worried they could be shut down for an investigation, so all the jars suddenly disappeared in December 1996, before the EPA was scheduled to receive a sample. No more specimens were ever found after that. The official story from GM was that the things were normal freshwater bacteria from a sprinkler system that leaked into the pit and stuck together in the shape of squids. One person said men in black were seen taking the samples away, but that's pretty cliche. The facility has been demolished now

okay, so schroedingers cat has been wildly misinterpreted for over five decades now so i am going to try and explain it for what it actually is. Most of the basic idea, and what you said, is true. Put something that will kill a cat based on quantum properties into a box and the cat is both alive and dead, kind of. The whole idea of the experiment was to show that quantum mechanics can NOT extrapolate to the macroscopic scale. Schroedingers cat is a CONTRADICTION in quantum mechanics, which can only operate on a microscopic scale, and yet the cats presence forces it to be a macroscopic phenomenon. The answer is not that the cat is both alive and dead, the question in and of itself is a paradox since quantum mechanics only operates on the microscopic scale but the thought experiment forces it to operate on a scale it does not work on. Is that confusing? Yes, it's not like it's supposed to be clean-cut. Schroedinger didn't really use it to say that quantum mechanics was dumb, he was creating a paradox for it.

I didn't realize that the "my red isn't your red" idea was a well-known conspiracy theory since I stumbled into that idea on my own when I was younger while pondering 'what ifs' like "what if the sky was purple". This theory often plagues my thoughts as I am a designer and very particular with color in general. My own take on this theory is that if we do see different colors but are trained to all say the same name so to speak, maybe that is why people have favorite colors and more importantly why people like certain color pallets but others viscerally hate them, in a way that is beyond cultural influence if that makes sense?

On the note of gangstalking; that shit is wild man. I work for a large cellular company in the US, I had a woman come in before and tell me her phone was "hacked". This is pretty common with Android phones, generally people install apps without considering if they are shady. Except she handed me an iPhone. The only way to do anything shady on an iPhone is if you have someone's Apple ID, you can track their location. But she didn't have an Apple ID on the device. Which means there's no way someone could be using her phone to track her or anything. She insisted someone was using her phone to track her. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and asked for further details, and that's when the gangstalking became clear. She claimed there were people that would constantly drive by her house at all hours of the day and night and slow down, people who stare at her at the supermarket and she'd often see the same people over and over again in different locations who she said were monitoring her, she claimed that people would often stare at her at traffic lights and when she was at the doctors because they were trying to scare her. I gave a little pushback and told her that there's no way anyone could track her on that phone because it's an iPhone and she doesn't have an Apple ID on it. That's when she got quiet, reeled back a little bit, and stared at me almost as if I had threatened to kill her or something. She quickly grabbed her phone, and ran out the door without a word. To this day, I'm certain she convinced herself that I was part of the gangstalking against her.

Maybe you just inadvertently fed into her paranoia She thinks that everyone is after her -> finds a reasonable explanation (cellphone tracking) -> tries to confirm -> is rejected -> lashes out against the person I feel like most of the stuff is although interesting either an interesting interpretation of one's/other's paranoia or just lack of context in a "wireless telephone" kind of way
