That building is part of Polish history. Love it or hate it, let it stand.

I find the picture at 1:39 quite telling, a brand new stalinist colossus while just down the road the city is still in ruins. Priority given to grandiose monuments instead of housing for the people

In fact it was decided from the beginning that it will be named "Palace of Culture and Science". But during construction time 1952 - 1955 Stalin died in 1953, so it was decided to rename it to "Palace of Stalin". This new name can be still seen in some places, although very dim. It is no longer the tallest building in Warsaw but undoubtedly symbol of the city.

Everything that the Soviets did was much larger than life. Stalin and Beria were probably responsible for this building. Did you know that the 7 beautiful buildings in Moscow which are attributed to Stalin were really designed by Lavrenty Beria (his chief of the NKVD) who was an architect major? Of course, Stalin had to approve of this at the end of the day. Stalin's buildings were very beautiful. It was only Kruschev who made it a point to make them more drab and cheap looking.

It is inspired by the Empire State Building...and I see it as such.

Instead of demolishing it I think they should turn it into a museum/memorial for all the poles whom the Soviets murdered, the place could become a place of honoring all those innocent people who the Russians killed and it could also help educate future generations about just how evil the Soviet union really was.

there is no need to confuse Soviet fascists with Russians, Russians suffered no less from the communists, at least not everyone supported Communism and its policies, and for this Stalin repressed such people. Most Russian scientists under Stalin were imprisoned because of Stalin's policies.

I think it should be dismantled. It looks very dull, with no real beauty to it, that's what the Soviets and Socialist wanted. Warsaw should be beautiful like it was before!

Horse's? In the 1920s? There was car's and trains in Poland as well. One of the first countries to have a real constitution a enemy of human today?? Nope wrong.. Jewish government? Poland is a Catholic country not Jewish, there is and was different people there who worship differently. Both of them are evil, replacing one fascist dictator for another isn't the goal, freedom is the goal. And every race steals and commits sin. And I'm American not Polish lol.
