When in Portugal you must eat Alheira. It's a sausage made of bread and poultry meat that was invented by the jews so that their neighbours could see them eat sausages and think they where eating pork thus evading any suspitions of them keeping the jewish religion. It's now very popular because it tastes very good. Also I think that the letter p shouldn't be in the name. In the verdict we see the name Asumsaõ. Today the name stil existes and its Assunção. The p exists in Spanish Assumption. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Hope we meet here in Coimbra

Your videos are always so enlightening, even for a professing Christian such as myself. In listening to this story I can certainly understand why many Christians would be compelled to learn more about the Jewish faith and Jewish traditions given that Jesus himself was obviously Jewish.....and the Roman church, with their overt and over the top effort to expunge Jesus' Jewishness....I can see how a Christian in that era would look to Judaism as being the truth when compared to so many of Rome's lies.... Even to this day the Christian church (both protestant and roman catholic) separates out or ignores so much of Jesus' Jewishness.....the last supper in the Gospels themselves is a seder, in Matthew Jesus tells his disciples where to go to prepare for the feast of unleavened bread. And yet when Christians celebrate communion it is often done with leavened bread....and of course Rome changed the sabbath from the seventh day to the first day....only SDAs (that I know of) maintain the sanctity of the seventh day as commanded by scripture.... Anyway, once again blessings and thank you for another great lesson....I'm going to call you Rabbi because you are teaching me a lot.

Thank you for this wonderful account. I offer a couple thoughts on a matter you emphasized - that the inquisitors scrupulously and faithfully recorded what "Frey" Assumpçao had to say. Much the same occurred with the original Inquisition. French sociologist Le Roy Ladurie was able to use a wealth of "confessions" scrupulously recorded by curious inquisitors eager to explore the most sensitive of topics to write his famous book "Montaillou." The juxtaposition of the inquisitors' exactitude and thoroughness, on one hand, with inhumanity and ignorance, on the other hand, is most curious. Mr. Assumpçao was both a brave and great man and we are fortunate that 4 centuries later we may accurately understand just who he was and what he stood for, unclouded by the passage of time.

Dr. Abramson, would you do a video on Alfred Dreyfus, please? This has something to do with Jews, but it has been unclear to me who he was, what the problem was, and what happened.

Thank You very much. The mighty elite are looking for small faults of people are in there way to strengthen their power. Is this different from now? There are some signs that my grandma motherly could had jewish roots but lived after marriage roman catholic as a farm wife in eastern europe. But in fact it s not possible to proove anymore. She had that jewish attitude to sieve the flour before baking and prooving the eggs for blood. I m sad not to take part of your journey but perhaps I get some infos over the channel. Stay safe and healthy.

Look up "Laudabiliter bull" From Pope Adrian to William the conqueror 1155CE. Told Normans to seize Ireland as a vassal of serfdom tax it for the Vatican . I am half Irish half Russian Jew. I learned how the Vatican caused this evil situation long ago. Many Irish are not told about this . Only Orange men Ulster may learn about it. The Catholic and Protestant s were to busy killing each other to harm Jews there. Sad but true .... Belfast and Dublin Ireland some of the oldest Jewish communities in Europe never harmed expelled. Rabbi Herzog of Israel from there. My cousins live in Roscommon Ireland. Sadly today the government of Ireland is pro Hamastinians Palestinian s etc. תודה רבה שלום
