The Soviet KV-220 is another rare premium tank in War Thunder, and it's probably my favorite out of the bunch. Yea, it's a bit ubiquitous with its red paint scheme, but it is a blast to play. It isn't as expensive as Object 279, but it still costs a lot of Gaijin coins.

@@KatyushaKitsune I hate trying to bomb Soviet heavies, they always end up with no engine, gun, tracks, breach, turret ring, elevation mechanism and transmission, but the crew is completely fine somehow. Literally every part of the tank is broken, but the crew blinked out of reality at the moment of detonation and then resume existence once the danger is past. Contrast with British heavies where is a bomb lands in the post code 8 time out of 10 they just exit the undamaged vehicle and return to hanger of their own accord.

The KV-122 is another good one thats 5.3 when the IS-2 which is pretty much the same is 6.0

Got 16 kills on that thing. And IS-2 is not the same at all. Its faster both forward and backwards, has way more hull armor so it can be player as a heavy/armored medium, while КВ-122 is much more passive and has to act like TD so thats it.

The H1 Pzgr. shell actually has alot of high explosive It's basically APHE with some more emphasis on the HE part Turny Plays made a video on it once

It can kill the jumbo by breaking the barrel, automatic overpressure. One of the best rounds in the game.

im not entirely sure but i think that over pressure at 9:33 was because the tigers Pzgr round has enough explosive to over pressure if it pens, and for some reasons the game calculated the hit as a pen.

The tiger opened the tiger pened tho. He went tru the very low front turret plate, wich is 100mm flat. It's such a small spot to hit, and that tiger Player was very lucky

It took the turret ring damage as penetration and insta-killed him. Jumbos get screwed by clown physics like this all the time. Real Pzgr Tiger bullshit hours. My favorites are the 89 degree parallel traveling Soviet shell auto pen kills, because gaijin can't even read Russian.

@@lector-dogmatixsicarii1537 I had an IS-2 fire APHEBC at my American T-34 heavy tank's mantlet from 500 meters (which is some 100mm thicker than what it can even pen, it eats long 88s for breakfast FYI) and it exploded in the mantlet and overpressured my entire crew. I was so dumbfounded I recorded it and saved it as a gif.

The T34 still has the T29 series missing spall shield, and gets face killed by dong 88's since it only has 203mm because of that. This is an extra 3 inches of armor memory holed. 122's, as per RU usual, overperform to the point it makes these convenient slips so bad. The British comments on their testing methods, and Aberdeen tests, REALLY piss in their cheerios. I have to preempt the "muh Soviet Tiger 2 test" 'proof' by pointing out it was pocked with a multitude of shit to achieve the glacis shatter they got. All you're going to do is activate stage 2 of the boss battle if you hit a T29 in the face. Pusan T-34 experience™ getting clapped by tanks held together by womens panties and tape.

the tiger barely penned your turret and the explosion hit the turret ring which counts as an internal component so it overpressured you due to the 200g of tnt equvalent in the pzgr shell. at 8:17 something similar happens, but your shell doesnt have enough filler to overpressure. with the pzgr shell that wouldve been a one shot kill.

I think it penetrated the outer layer of the mantlet and stopped on the inner layer, causing the overpressure mechanic to behave as if it penetrated normally, however stupid that may be.

It only works well when you get the spaced armor upgrade (which is a tier 3 or 4 modification unlock) otherwise the turret and hull get absolutely destroyed...

Dunno if you'll end up seeing this, but since your M8 Armored Car video, I've been thinking about the Daimler car for Britain. In theory, it's basically the same thing but with some tradeoffs. You get a closed roof but no .50cal. You have a much better reverse gear, but you're a bit slower to accelerate. You're very small, but you only have 3 crew members (honestly not a big deal considering the non-existent armor). But a major difference is in the gun: Where the M8 gets a 37mm, the Daimler gets a 40mm with slightly better damage, pen, damage, reload speed, and has access to a lower pen but higher damage APHE shell for weaker targets. I remember using it before they added the APHE shell to the 40mms when the AP had 94mm of pen and I'd use it against T-34s and Shermans at 3.7 lol.
