i remember using similar spec pcs at school and its shocking how usable these can be when they arent limited to a hard drive with 40000 hours of power on time lmfao

Core2 Duo machines are hard carried by SSDs, even without the full 600 mb read/write speeds

Here's the funny thing. I work at a school and the side project we've been working on with my supervisor is sending *these things* upgraded to ukraine.

Hey just came up to say, it can't be used. At least you can do is q6600 with DDR3 and a proper SSD. May be raided SSD

Also I have tried some time before to max out ram on some of them. I think I have got to 12gb top. No matter what I have done I couldn't plug in 4th 4g. It woudl work. But probably related to the fact that j was using all different sticks. So probably you can make a rig of 4 sticks. Be aware of the mother board though. It can be DDR2 or DDR3 one. So..

a good idea would be to review a more bearable computer (atleast an old dell optiplex from 2013)

Yeahhhhh, A Hat in Time is running on UE3 so its no wonder its stuttering heavily on a Core2Duo. Encountered the same issue on a Titan X on my 4th gen Core i5 build i have on the side, in my case it was the PCIe 2.0 of the H81 board i was using that caused the stutter. Going to Z87 with PCIe 3.0 fixed the issue.

fascinating, i didn't know that a hat in time ran on UE3. upon some googling, however, UE3 was released in 2006, which was 4 years before PCIe 3.0 was introduced... do all UE3 games run like this on PCIe 2.0? i can't wrap my head around how this game doesn't run well even though in theory, it should based on how old the engine is
@GUCFan3 күн бұрын
@@phoenix_ac0 I wouldn't know, i didn't really experiment that much before the H81 board died and i replaced it with a Z87 board. But it only seemed to have troubles running on the Titan X on PCIe 2.0 because i had a GTX680 in that build before and AHiT ran quite well on it.

The core2 is pretty ok for basic tasks, but don't get a Celeron in that gen.
@phoenix_ac0Күн бұрын
but what if did? nah, i won't anytime soon, at least not until i get more interesting things to play with
@christiangomez2496Күн бұрын
@@phoenix_ac0 I had a celeron 450 in an eMachines shitbox. Barely could handle it and decided to shove a Q8400 into it for better performance
@christiangomez2496Күн бұрын
@ I wouldn't suggest it. You get atom performance with lower end power draw (35W for a 450) on a socketed CPU that can have a Core2 Duo or Quad slapped in
