@tutuadefolalu36613 жыл бұрын
It is good that he dedicated his reign to Jesus, but now he must live that out. The first move should be to completely remove the use of oracles from any and all government and succession processes. This was in place before he was born so no fault to him on that. But now he is to govern for life. He has the freedom to choose how things will be to a greater extent than an elected official could. There should be a clear and decisive removal of these pagan rituals and influences from all aspects of leadership. Progress and bringing the Itsekiri forward is great. No question that he appears to be taking them in that direction. But a solid foundation in Christ is also important. Oracles have no place there. This does not mean they should be driven out or persecuted, nor does it mean non-Christians should face any sort of prejudice. But a clear separation, a cutting off, needs to take place now that he is In charge. King Josiah in 2 Kings chapter 23 removed the idol worship from Israel and renewed their covenant with the Lord. He did not allow wrong things to remain simply because of tradition or Israel’s history of allowing idol worship alongside their worship of the Lord. He had it removed completely and God blessed him with a peaceful reign all his days. This is not a call to bring violence against oracles and idol worshippers, but to have that same heart before the Lord of not allowing wrong things to remain. Of being used to change the story of his people. To have the wrong foundations and rituals removed in peaceful yet decisive ways. If people truly want to pray for his time as Olu of Warri, they should pray for that. People remark at his relatively young age at 37. Like Josiah, who was 18 when his heart was moved by reading the Book of the Law, may the 21st Olu’s heart be moved by the Lord to govern just as boldly.

Is Africa African anymore ? This is an indigenous coronation and it reeks of European culture… why the hell is this man wearing a European crown with a Georgian cross ? Keep the rich culture for the future generation . Please do not water it down otherwise it will be lost. May the Ancestors guide you to reign justly over the Warri Kingdom.
@ngozifejokwu26223 жыл бұрын
Gold and Silver does not belong only to Europeans. Africa is blessed with abundance gold and silver deposits. A crown symbolizes power, glory, royalty and sovereignty and any material can be used to make it. He is also not just a man, He is a King.
@tashagee35663 жыл бұрын
@@ngozifejokwu2622you sound like an idiot. That is a European crown. Africa needs to retain its culture and not be sheep
@marthangafor64143 жыл бұрын
The cross on the crown is because the king is a Christian. So he knows that he is subject to a greater King in Jesus. Besides, we have seen the evolution of culture throughout human history. Do you object to the Western musical instruments too? I saw a lot of Itsekiri history and culture during this ceremony. Because the new Olu is a Christian, you won't see him needing any 'ancestors'. Their legacy is enough; the dead do not communicate with the living. What you are referring to is necromancy which involves evil spirits posing as people's loved ones. It is one thing God deeply detests and I think this king fears Him.
@ngozifejokwu26223 жыл бұрын
@@tashagee3566 You're obviously a very disrespectful person. Did Itsekiri people complain to you about the Olu of Warri's crown. So our culture is restricted to crowns made of coral beads? SMH!!
