Sick how this completely unproduced silly kitchen conversation is in my opinion in the top 5% of all podcasts episodes ever made. I'm at minute 17 now and I enjoyed the hell out of the way Ali pitched "Outlive" to Taimur.

Interesting episode! The 100-year-old marathon runner you may have been thinking of is Fauja Singh. What's even more amazing is that he started running when he was 89 years old! His background of overcoming immense grief is incredible. There is an excellent book about his life called Turbaned Tornado, written by Khushwant Singh.

I m at minute 37 and I know where Taimur is going with this- there was a book Taimur recommended in the last episode (I got it and read it). The author explained how modern sociology is just bunch of ideas pushed by ideologies to the public. Subsequently, those ideas become reality

A conversation that went from a topic of a measured outcome (DEXA scan) to a topic that is impossible to measure (what people/topics you as an individual prioritize in your everyday life). Taimaur seems to prioritize a "broader" subject matter (sociological, psychological impact). Ali seems to be more focused (just get the software program to execute - if by chance it impacts humanity, we will cross that bridge if/when it pops up). Just my 2 cents from the US.

Ali tries so hard to be "productive" and does all the stuff to be healthy but one thing he is definitely missing is his autonomous nervous system and hrv imo. He is stressed the whole time. Looking at this podcast, his hrv must be less than 40. His brother is much more relaxed and in coherence with his breath. If you're reading this Ali, I would recommend you to look into hrv, sympathetic/parasympathetic nervous system and coherence breathing (especially 5.5 second inhale and exhales) If you continue going like this, a heart attack or early death is not far fetched imo and you should really look into this FAST before it's too late.

Water flosser works well as you can quickly remove the food each time you eat than just when you brush your teeth. I had mild gum bleeding, pre and during my Invisalign, 18 months I had them, and the water flosser sorted it with my twice a day brushing. Had my yearly hygienist the other day and all fine bar build up around my back brace post my invisalign so know the water flossing works if you cannot / won't floss or teepee

Salaam Ali I wish you the best in your health and fitness quest. Use a smart weighing scales to keep track of muscle and fat in between your dexa scans. Also I don’t think a tonne of walking is what you need. Rather do HIIT. Use of Continuous glucose monitor will also help you.

I think Taimur was waffling that last half of the pod. We have a finite amount of things to care about. Even if we wanted to care, it would only be so much. We have jobs to do. If we care about everything, how would we act on it? Will this care detriment other things like your personal relationships/time spent on things you want to do?
@on2a
@on2a Ай бұрын
He’s not saying care about everything… On a broader level he’s saying choose the things you want to care about and know where you want to be ‘ignorant’. A lot of people who say they don’t care about politics are quite ignorant to it and therefore are ignorant to the implications of what is being done on their behalf by their governments, for example
