Why would Luke include a passage that clearly shows Paul kept the Torah, then go on to tell the Gentiles, they don’t have to keep Torah? The emphasis of Acts 21 is the present validity of Torah! At the same time the secondary emphasis is, you can not have the gentiles keep the fullness of Torah from a circumcised heart until they know and understand the Torah! This is about Ekkliastical practice as much as doctrine! How can you expect people to walk according to Torah when they have no clue what YHWH expressed in Torah? There is a learning curve honestly! It’s like baptism. If you are not more sanctified in the righteousness described in Torah now, than you were at your baptism, then you need to thoroughly examine your faith! In Acts 11 when the gentiles came in receiving the gift of the Spirit, Peter asks, can we keep those who already received the spirit baptism in water? Obviously the Father did not discriminate against the gentiles because they did not know or yet walk in all the Torah yet! Sanctification is a process, and that’s what grace and mercy are all about! If it wasn’t for that NONE of us would be saved!

The context of Acts 21:21-25 is that of what Moses taught regarding circumcision and religious practices or customs. So the context is not the moral law that Moses taught and recorded in the Torah but the purity laws regarding ceremonial cleansing, abstinence during sabbath, kosher food, and circumcision and the like especially prior to sacred assembly. The words "they should observe no such thing except" only adds a clarification that they didn't have to keep these customs as was decided during the council in Acts 15 which decided that they only had to keep the prohibitions of eating meat sacrificed to idols, strangled or with its blood and sexual immorality. The restatement of these infers the same judgement was in place. The Majority Text affirms its presence so I am inclined to say it probably should be there.

I dont think this is saying that the Gentiles should not keep the Torah, I think they were dealing with an immediate problem about Paul being falsely accused. They wanted Paul to take the “temporary” vow to make it obvious to others that he kept the law . They are saying that the gentiles don’t need to take a vow to look a certain way, just do what they have already been told. That is the context.
@familiacoates652012 күн бұрын
Even KJV-onlyists cannot interpret that passage to mean that gentiles may not keep the Torah. If they say that, then it would mean that the gentiles have a pass to commit adultery, to steal, to bear false witness, etc. “That they observe no such thing, save only..” must include the context of the gentile believers’ conditional admission into the assembly, and that the stipulations did not include having to be ritually circumcised.

It seems somewhat evident (to me) that the KJV version (mss that led to it) are merely trying to highlight what God said through Jeremiah, "31 “Behold, days are coming,” declares the Lord, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32 NOT LIKE THE COVENANT WHICH I MADE WITH THE FATHERS [emphasis mine] on the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the Lord. 33 “For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days,” declares the Lord: “I will put My law within them and write it on their heart; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people... The TEN COMMANDMENTS (which were written on stone) are to be written on our hearts under the Brit Hadasha--BUT NOT all the rest of "the Torah" which was given "the the Fathers". Sadly there are only a very few believing assemblies who do that today. @@ZUL8R_DAVE your idea of context is "Paul's in the bible so we have to believe him" but no we don't , go read Deuteronomy 13 , I refuse to play verbal gymnastics in order to make him "fit" into the bible

God told Peter to eat unclean animals in his revelation. There’s 40 years between the death of Christ and the destruction of the 2nd temple. God did not forgive the sins of Israel in this 40 years (one generation) and the doors of the tabernacle would open on their own everyday, according to the Talmud. Jesus says that the most important commandments are to love thy neighbor as thyself, and to love God with all your heart. Although Paul is a false apostle, a hypocrite, and much more, he did get a few things right. For his lies to be convincing he had to hide them amongst truth. This is how many, including the elect, were deceived. Jesus was the final blood sacrifice. There is nothing unclean or uncircumcised but our hearts. The tabernacle was a way for the Israelites to see how far from God they were. But when Jesus walked amongst them, they were only distant in heart and spirit. If God wanted the “unclean” to stay separate and away from the “clean” like in mosaic law, then why would He come in the flesh, praise a woman who bled for 12 years for coming out into a crowd and touching His clothes? Why would He tell a centurion he had great faith and heal his servant? He was even willing to go to the centurions house to heal him, something no law keeping Jew would have done. And Peter was told to go to a centurion’s house after his revelation. Jesus, the Son of God, God in human form, the living Word of God, praised gentiles for their faith, was willing to touch them and enter their homes. What is in our hearts is more important than what we do outwardly, like the hypocrites who pray and give to charity publicly, but only for the praise of others not because they love others or God. No one who follows God and accepts Jesus Christ as the messiah should follow strict mosaic law, but only keep the 10 commandments, with the common sense law of not divorcing, feeding your animals before yourself, etc. We are the temple and the church The Levites have no priesthood and no temple nor alter in which to offer sacrifices. There will be no more blood or burnt sacrifices. We gentiles/christians shall only celebrate the sabbath on Saturday Messianic jews may celebrate historical holidays such as Passover but it is not required

⚠️ Cursed blood boiling recitation ⚠️do not ever do this again ⚠️ when you read it refer to scripture: you first state the book, chapter, & verse. By omitting this: you become the offender ⚠️ Do not do this again

I appreciate your videos but must disagree with you on the authority of Codex Vaticanus and Codex Sinaiticus. The circumstances under which these two works were "discovered" are beyond shady. When the Vatican has the best forgers on the planet, an anti-Christ Pope who believes he has the authority to change Scripture, and a relationship with both of the men who "discovered" them I think I will pass.

Nechimia isn't it true that you couldn't walk for 6 months? At least? You don't have the original? Nechimia I think this is a challenge! Find the original (hebrew) come on

Bumbling filler words interrupting your own selves: Listening to this is exceedingly frustrating. I have nothing solid to latch on to. No thesis statement. Please do not punish people like this again. Clean up your message narrative. No more off-the cuff / top of your head streams of consciousness. Script only

Outrageously painfully circular ad lib opening. You will turn people off to caring about this if you do not speak clearly with an editor’s reviewed script. This chatty format is obnoxious & offputting: fix it.

Gentiles were never under the law of Moses or the Ten Commandments- We were under the Noahic covenant of Genesis 9 and when they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ they still are not bound to go to the temple in Jerusalem every year on passover nor be circumcised, but are still to keep the Noahic covenant as outlined in acts 15 and 21.

And why would someone NOT want to Keep HASHEM’s Commandments if they truly love HIM as they say they do?
@ahammer700012 күн бұрын
@there are some 600 laws that Jews have to keep, imagine if every man was forced to get circumcised and go to Jerusalem every year, and they had to put to death sabbath breakers.. Jerusalem is too far for everyone to visit every year and most everyone would be put to death for breaking the sabbath, remember they are not allowed to even pick up sticks on the sabbath.

there is one law for the natural born, and the strangers which sojourn among you
@ahammer700012 күн бұрын
@ so do you support putting to death someone who picks up sticks in the sabbath? Even if they want too the Jews today can’t keep the law, because that means they all have to go to Jerusalem every year and sacrifice animals which there are none today. That verse you quote was true at that time in the context of those living in the land and still is for converts but only to a point, imagine if all the men in the world kept the law, then every man would have to go to Jerusalem every year on Passover, where would they all fit? It is just ridiculous to think God put the gentiles under the law of Moses.
