Hello! Thank you for a lovely, warming video. There's something about you that reminds me of my Donegal-born Granny on my mum's side. A sort of pragmatic / 'get on with it", attitude, but with a softness too. She used to speak of faeries. Rarely, but now and then. If she was still around I'd have asked her more about it all. She died in 2009, at the grand old age of 103. When folks would ask how she looked so young, she'd always say: "No smokin', no drinkin' and no MEN!" ;) She only ever had one love - her husband and father of her children - who died when he was just in his 30s (asbestos poisoning from labouring in the building of Glasgow's Clyde Tunnel, apparently). Anyway, she was in a fair bit of poverty from then (no insurance, no benefits) and with three very young daughters, so she had to work several jobs, and my mother and sisters were looked after in Ireland and Scotland by her relatives. I never heard her complain about it when we talked. Just got on with it. Life giving lemons... lemonade, kind of thing. Thank you for everything you record. It's practical. And its magical. I hope the Gregorian new year and beyond brings you health and happiness, and lots of laughter. And the same to everyone here ❤️ xxxxx

Your dried flower arrangement is beautiful. Very Victorian look! And very keeping with your overall approach to life. You didn't think "Oh, they're ruined!" when you saw the flowers had dried out, you simply switched gears. Love that! I am looking forward to seeing your orchard come Spring. Very pretty dried flower arrangement, I love doing that with roses, hang them upside down to dry, speak them with hair spray, but if I put them in the window sill their color fades. Yours are pretty, thank you for sharing.

A similar thing happened to a bouquet of roses that I had neglected. Two of the roses had roots , I planted them in the garden and kept them wet and they survived and thrive to this day, years later. Thanks Collette for sharing this wonderful video. The rose hips are very beautiful in the garden, as is the dried bouquet you put together ❤ Have a wonderful New Year with an abundance of love and peace with joyous passion and creativity in many different celebrations and events. Happy New Year! We had quite the thick o fog yesterday. The pond was totally shrouded, as was the meadow. It had burned off by lunch but came back again at dusk. The late rain prevented the neighbors from shooting off their fireworks, the type that are illegal in Virginia. They terrorize pets & wildlife alike.

I also like to dry flowers and bring them out in the Winter to remind me of what's to come. Taking down the Christmas tree and decor with all the bright colors leaves the house so neutral. I dried rose leaves and delphinium blossoms and put them in a glass jar so I can enjoy their beauty as I watch your vlogs. Happiest of New Year's to you Colette! XOXO
