In last nights game against the Anaheim Ducks the Arizona Coyotes absolutely dominated the once Mighty Ducks coming off the back of their absolutely incredible overtime win against the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.

I'm a Wings fan but I live in Arizona and want the Coyotes to do well, financially and athletically. I want Arizonans to enjoy hockey, and I want a team here so that I can see the Wings when they come to town. Because of this and the Wings' recent struggles, I'm more invested in the Coyote's game results than I ever have been.

This team has potential now with someone coming in and having people that just KNOW what they are doing. I've grown for 28 years in the desert and this IS my team. I have a few others but they are my ride or die. Really happy to see them having success.

About that "embarrassing arena" thing. I've been to games out in Glendale and at Mullett now and I can tell you Mullett has magic. Yes it's tiny for an NHL barn but as a result every seat is premium. Also, there's a vibe there that Glendale NEVER had. Sun Devils hockey is also a blast and I'm especially looking forward to next season when ASU joins the NCHC and will become a conference rival with my alma mater. Personally, I also love it because the commute to it is easier. I can get to it via light rail from my house in less time than I could drive to Glendale. The rail doesn't get closer than 8 or 9 miles to there either so it's not an option at all.

They are having a great season and have picked up some great players that really round out the roster. Macelli is one of my new favorite players. Yes Keller, Carcone, and Crouse have been the big goals scorers but Macelli and Schmaltz have been huge playmakers to support. After having an amazing run beating the Golden Knights, Lightning, Avs twice and the Blues, they are looking really hot going into next year. But they still do not have what it takes to consistently beat teams like Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, etc. I am a big Coyotes fan having grown up in AZ and would love to see the Coyotes make the playoffs this year. But if they do, I do not have hope for them getting out of the first round especially against teams like Vancouver or Vegas. Ingraham had been great in net and the offense has been firing up. But the Yotes downfall will be their defense. Moser is decent but too many defensive errors and penalties will cost them big games.

Yeah when Crouse has 16 goals, i could say Macceli has assist to atleast 14 of them, and most of them are first assist. Havent seen much of Coyotes matches but feels like Macceli being much of under rated

My read on them could be very off, the Yotes look legit but not quite contenders yet, but with the developing young players, their (if i remember correctly) respectable prospect pool and the step they're taking this year i could see them competing for a cup in the coming years.

Ducks fan who had to watch that utterly shambolic 2-0 defeat to Arizona: The Coyotes aren't the sexiest roster, but they're tremendously well-coached, disciplined, structured, and are not afraid to outwork you. They flat-out wrecked the Ducks on sheer effort alone. They won the race to every loose puck in all 3 zones. They forechecked the crap out of a turnover-prone Anaheim breakout. They were absolutely flying every time they got over the blueline and found pass after pass after wide-open pass through the high slot for scoring chances. When the Ducks did manage to get the puck into their end, Arizona took away space quickly, kept sticks in passing lanes, and blocked shots. Exactly as you said, they did exactly what they needed to, and the Ducks had zero answer for any of it. The Coyotes completely outplayed them. As frustrating as it was to watch, they look like a decent team. If their goaltending holds up, they're going to make the playoffs and some team is going to take them lightly and the Coyotes will give them absolute hell. And you know what? I'm happy for them. About time they figured it out.

My thoughts are from no one thinking Arizona would get any traction for years to come and even with a bad start they've been resiliant and getting quite a few surprise wins. Just for your info, the last time the Coyotes were good was the 2011-12 season when they were first in the Pacific and made it to the conference finals only to lose to the eventual cup champ Kings. And they also would’ve beaten the Devils like the Kings did for sure. Makes me sad to think about sometimes.

The yotes have been a suprise -- but in all fairness they play in the west and the west is... Pretty weak and one of these teams outside Colorado, Vegas, Edmonton and Dallas has to shine. Not trying to shit on Arizona but it's not as hard to land the wild card in west say compared to a stacked east.
