Well said, very similar experience with me via my addiction to snorting powder then progressing to crack. At the end, even freebasing cocaine wasnt getting me there and I was going to start slamming it intravenously. Fortunately, I committed to recovery after chronically relapsing for years and it’s stuck this time around, thus far. I still fantasize about smoking rock but I simply don't act on it.
@AG-kz4lw21 сағат бұрын
i have similar experience, in a way.. i have always been an occasional powder user and my drug of choice was always c. and once i got too curious to try the rock. surprisingly for me.. i did not get addicted, but only because it was not “my high”. i understood what the hype was about, i was doing it occasionally for a couple of years, but never got as hooked as i was on coke. and i believe it is the only thing which has saved me. i lost my relationship to it - my now ex partner who we have tried it together with struggles with severe crack addiction now, ever since. he has lost nearly everything and, eventually, 6 years later i left, too. i wish with all my heart he recovers

My investment into the bugle is at least 80k. It gives you a false sense of being a man when really it only ruines all relationships you have and fills your whole life with regrets you won’t even realise till you’ve stopped, then your a emotional wreck and trying to grip the pain and embarrassment you lived through. I was sitting in spots with heroin homeless lot begging me to split my grab 2 and 1 so they can get “well” luckily I’m scared of needles so I never did the dark. I hope your all good now brother and spread the word to our younger generations not to even try either, the worst part I deal with now is anxiety I’ve never felt so scared in my life and il tell you this I was one hard f’er every one knew not to come to me with a problem because I’d deal with it lol I was the guy that would eat your sneaky dig and you’d run lol but yeah it completely ruins you trust me. I’m back on the gym and trying to get my head back in the game but trust me it’s not easy. Just leave all of the stuff alone spend the money on people you love and stay mentally sound. And especially since the heroin supply has become pretty scarce since the Taliban took over, it really became noticable last year... But for hardcore no.3 junkies they binge on it for a few months and straighten out back onto methadone or until decent dope comes on the scene, shits so played out.
@John-Is-My-NameКүн бұрын
cocaine is insanly potent right now in europe. We are used to really bad stuff when I was younger 15 years ago. You could easily use 1g coke by yourself in a few hours. Nowadays 0.5g is enough for 2 people for a whole evening. I've read alot of drug busts were they have been testing it to be over 80-90% pure.

Why are so many people smoking it out of a pot pipe? You're not supposed to use direct flame, except for the initial one-second melt. They're burning their product! No wonder the high for them is only one minute!!
@SolidBoss7Күн бұрын
Nah if it’s raw stuff even a direct flame hit will demolish you. And that’s a bold faced lie saying it lasts 1 minute. If you wanna be technical that initial blast lasts mere seconds, but if it’s raw you’ll be jacked for a good 20-30 minutes. Only thing is you may be chasing that initial blast so you end up taking hits way sooner than even needed or rational. As a recovering crack/opiate user who’s been clean since 2012 I can speak from very vivid experience. These people need long term support and a network of ONLY clean people. It can’t be done alone. That thing about everything needing to be perfect around you is also wrong. Just need a baseline which can be achieved via rehab.

As someone doing 400mg(!!)morphine, a lot of pregabaling, up to 10 zolpidem, 1-2 zopiclone and Xanax or clonazepam per day, also including weed, I think I’m qualified when it comes to addiction. I went through methadone cold turkey with similar symptoms also including the usual. Anyone that disagrees about it being addictive and the withdrawals must count themselves lucky.

@mafcarvalhoКүн бұрын
All addictions are hell but for opiates there are substitutes like methadone or burprenorphine which together with counselling help users to get back to a "normal" life, study or get a job, etc. With coke (or crack) there is no medication to help kick the habit. People smoke it because it gives them a rush and temporarily blocks the pain, be it physical or mental. Each time you relapse, it's harder to stop again. A single rock immediately destroys months of abstinence. I guess that big pharma isn't interested in creating an alternative to coke...
@BiscottomottoКүн бұрын
@@JamalW239I wanna hear the answer to this question too
@DustinMulligan-w9bКүн бұрын
@@JamalW239for myself it was meth. Was never addicted to MDMA though. Heroin is brutal bevause of the physical withdrawal, but that fades fairly quick. Both heroin and meth are mentally addicting, but that fades with heroin eventually. Years after meth addiction I would still think about it often, and nothing felt enjoyable for years. It releases so much dopamine that it sets a totally unrealistic precedent in your mind that constitutes "enjoyable". Music, going out with friends, video games, watching KZbin, anything... In the back of my mind, it would just feel dull and I knew it's because the dopamine from those activities was nowhere enough to satisfy my brains insatiable desire for ridiculous amounts of dopamine it was used to. I smoked all day every day for nearly a decade. It completely rewires your dopamine reward system, and repairing it is a very slow process. The recovery process was much more miserable then even the depths of my addiction. Granted I didn't use heroin as much as meth and some people will say heroin is harder. It depends on the person and how much they used and for how long etc.

its so sad to hear about the trauma of them, we really need to stop blaming and looking down on people like this - most of them just went through some very bad trauma and we should be more empathetic - it can happen to anyone at any time, and not everyone is going to be able to deal with it without the help of using drugs to stop them from killing themselves.

Nah dude after being a hardcore meth addict for a very long time and down addict for quite a long time as well, and having quit both successfully calm after many fields starts, and after knowing crack addicts, alcoholics, other meth and heroin addicts after being homeless for 6 months...... I realize something at the end of the day, there is no hardest drug to quit, it all depends on the person and the amount that they use in for how long. All drugs do is provide an escape, that's the addicting thing, and if it's crack for someone then it's going to be just as hard to quit as any other drug. When I was in rehab honestly the alcoholics were just as bad as anyone else. but trust me I've met many people and seen enough things to know that crack definitely is not easy to quit. You just see more heroin and meth addicts because in my opinion they feel much better and they're a lot cheaper than crack. I'm not really sure why someone would offer crack over those two drugs, but that's the thing they probably wouldn't understand why anyone would do anything other than crack. It doesn't matter what the drug is, when people find an escape, that's their escape, and it's hard to quit if you rely on it long enough.

@@Albendova666in my opinion the physical withdrawals of heroin and fentanyl are nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, compared to the mental withdrawals of heroin itself, but meth and any other hard drug. The physical withdrawals go away and a very short amount of time relatively speaking. The mental anguish, from meth for example, will last for years and is excruciating at times. Physical pain can be put up with if you know the end of it is not to far off. The mental anguish of withdrawal is crushing and at times feels like it will never go away...

Most people I know/or knew who got themselves into drugs did not have any traumas at all. The reson was always the same and it was a mixture of boredom and desire to feel great. The narrative that these people are victims of some life dificulties which pushed them into drugs addiction is gently speaking silly. It will be true for some, but the main reason is that humans are just hedonistic by nature. We humans love pleasure.

I'd spent 10 years addicted to opiates before I properly tried white, the latter 7 or 8 of them being IV use. While I wouldn't say I was functioning well during that time, I did hold down a job, bills got paid etc. I thought I knew what addiction was, but there's honestly nothing like the hold that crack will get over you. Within a year I'd lost my job, sold basically everything I could and racked up ~£5k of CC debt. In a way it's what saved my life, because instead of just coasting through life on opiates it pushed me to the rock bottom that ultimately lead to me getting / staying clean for the last 3+ years.

Aldous Huxely, a close friend of Krishnamurti's, also has a quote that is remarkably similar: "The real hopeless victims of mental illness are to be found among those who appear to be most normal. Many of them are normal because they are so well adjusted to our mode of existence, because their human voice has been silenced so early in their lives that they do not even struggle or suffer or develop symptoms as the neurotic does. They are normal not in what may be called the absolute sense of the word; they are normal only in relation to a profoundly abnormal society. Their perfect adjustment to that abnormal society is a measure of their mental sickness. These millions of abnormally normal people, living without fuss in a society to which, if they were fully human beings, they ought not to be adiusted"

Drug addiction regardless if it's over the counter doctor prescribed or illicit, is all just a way to people to cope. The governments are fighting drugs and drug cartels yet cost of living, quality of life keeps getting worst, a person that is fulfilled does not need any drugs. Governments want to reduce or downright eradicate drug use, increase quality of life, give the population a purpose and make them feel wanted.

Drugs are the most effective way to separate people who can handle problems and who can't. Almost all drug addicts blame the past for the situation they are in. It became a common denominator for all users. Imagine if all individuals who survived the wars, famine, and losses couldn't cope with it and started using drugs. We would not have a society anymore. My Granddad went through two wars and one famine, where he was forced to eat his young brother. Even so, he had a family raised 2 sons who became doctors, had 12 grandsons and all of them are doing extremely well. And all this happened because he was strong and could cope with all the disgrace that fell on him. Drugs separate the weak from the strong.
