A slow D-D-D-DU with an emphasis on the fourth down strum (twice through for each chord) sounds really nice too, and is a lot less confusing. Haha. My brain could not keep up with the more complicated pattern. Awesome tutorial though!

Love this song, it would have been great to have been shown how to strum faster before including the lyrics. Seems like an entirely different pattern all sped up and a pretty big jump for beginners.

I really wanted to now, how to play this song like you did. And I was SO SO sure that the strumming pattern in the song is not the same as in the practice. It needed much time but now I have it! It is D-d-D DU UDUD DU and the third and ninth (both downstrumms) are emphasized and the second one less or only two strings. Right? For a beginner like me your videos are gold! pretty potato You can learn that! Just start with one strum per chord and if you can do that really well after a few hours or days, just do two strums, then four and then a pattern❤️

No matter how long I practice I cant seem to get the strumming pattern right. so frustrating. My rhythmn on ukulele is complete ass. So frustrating that i stopped learning this song now before I throw my Uke against a wall

Same here. I think in the latter part of the video, he's not actually strumming the exact pattern he explained in the beginning. Some strokes are either de-emphasized, or are shorter, or completely removed - can't make it out - but they are definitely not whatever was explained in the beginning. That U D U D part is sticking out as a sore thumb.
