@lear19804 жыл бұрын
@@phrodendekia If the car is going straight off nose first they tend to just skip right across the top of the gravel. @cdname474 жыл бұрын
Its funny you get these comments all the time in hindsight. It's clear they were aware of the incident but not the oil that would've made them lose control even at reduced speed. Were the oil flags out? Doesn't look like it.
@andyowens54944 жыл бұрын
Brum Racing Yeah, but us marshals don’t have metal boxes around us; orange probans don’t offer much impact protection :(. The only protection we have is our colleagues, drivers being observant and acting appropriately, and placing a car between us and the other cars. Running away is rarely an option - I dont think even Mr Bolt can out-run a car. Hindsight is not a luxury we can afford. Given the tyre squeals, I dont think lack of traction was the problem. I trust most professional drivers and some club drivers to drive appropriately whether the flags are out or not, but some club drivers are just less aware than others, that’s all. Happy racing for 2020 :)
@cdname474 жыл бұрын
@@andyowens5494 if you are a marshal I'd hope you'd recognise the thick black line of oil on the track there. I've been a marshal too in my time, so it's not some anti marshal crusade. It's just marshals will always blame the drivers for not obeying the flags, drivers will always blame the marshals for not having the flags out in time, thus the world turns Each situation is different and I think this one is more to do with oil and no oil flag than it is drivers not paying attention as it seems they have reduced their speed in all fairness

There is more than a few drivers in these clips that need glasses for their seeing eye dog!! Crash near the front of the field,, and 20 sec later a backmarker drives into the accident. I thing Brit tracks all need gravel between the track and the walls. They go much faster on wet grass!! Those tyre walls need the inside tyre stack chained or attached to the walls, Less tyre spread when hit and less likey for open wheel cars to go under. The conveyer belting makes a huge difference as well. Though ideally also attached to the ground as well. And this is world wide
