Few more details: Hitler personally was never elected but the Nazi party won a relative majority in the last election of the weimar republic. Reichspräsident and Chancellor were different roles with the president being personally elected while he picked the chancellor which was kind of like a prime minister. It's also important to know that towards the end of the Weimar Republic the parliament basically broke down from political infighting and much of legislation got passed by extensive emergency laws granted towards the president. At the time Hitler got into power the system was already beyond repair.

Dude after 7years HAAS still hasn't figured out rear brakes that work. Or to be more specific, a MGU-K that doesn't make the brakes fail. First seasons their cars couldn't stop ending up in a wall because the brakes refused to engage for the driver. Always at the most dangerous high speed corners. Literal death trap cars and FIA did nothing. Today total failures happen much less but you can still see the drivers constantly struggling with unreliable braking after high speed straights. It's like their storage or conduits have a safety threshold refusing further charge at some moments and the reaction is releasing pressure on the brakes no matter driver input.

I personally found it strange that Andretti wanted to enter so close before a regulations change. I mean it would effectively mean the team would have to build two cars simultaneously from the ground up, and in two years it is impossible to fully develop a car. Look at Mercedes that missed the right design at the beginning of the ground effect cars, and ar just now starting to catch up, and that is a team with a ton of experience. I think Andretti would fall flat on it's face if they were allowed to do what they wanted to do.
@Rizon19859 ай бұрын
@@nicodeboer7429Yeah Mercedes had the most stupid and worst entry in F1 history. 4th, 4th, 5th, 2nd and then 8 years WCC with 7 of them WDC breaking every record around. The problem with Van Rossem was that he actually was an economic genius, he was one of the few who understood the world of finance and was calling out bankers predicting the banking crisis in detail decades before it happened. He was so much smarter than anyone else on the subject that he believed he could set up a scam that was basically a copy of what the banks were doing, only with all the profits getting into his pockets rather than the shareholders of the banks. He was undeniably a criminal, but he was a thief who was stealing from people who were legally stealing from the regular people. Ending up this weird cult figure a lot of people had a weak spot for, even though nobody really trusted him.

One story to help you understand why in Belgium he was considered half criminal, half hero: his ability to call out faulty or unfair financial/economical structures...and then exploit them in the most flamboyand, egotistical way possible. When he had his political party, it would receive government money based on the number of votes it got. Van Rossem thought this funding was too much and an unwise spending of government money. So he publicly asked the political leaders if he could give back that money. Of course the political leaders were deadly afraid to set a precedent that would not suit them and denied. Van Rossem promptly bought Ferrari Mondials for his political party staff using the money. And wput a Moneytron windshield banner on them.

Taking a car in it's first season with reliability issues and struggling to get out of pre-qual and managing a 5th and more importantly a podium shows that he was a good driver and that the car on it's day was a decent car. My only side bar is Jean-Pierre was a Marxist at heart. Atleast he’d admit so much at one point in his life maybe not later favoring “libertarian” doctrine(probably more like anarchy lol) . He despised Jean-Marie likely for… well… reasons Balestre otherwise did his damndest to bury from his past. Needless to say the Htler reference was imo more a jab at that history than anything and Jean Marie’s skeletons from his service. I took it to mean JP thought Jean-Marie was wholly unscrupulous, much like Htler’s takeover of the Reichstag through federal elections via the NSDAP becoming the largest party forcing Hindenburg’s hand appointing him chancellor. Some pretty nasty political maneuvering that might apply but also tying Jean Marie to that dark past . Again just my take though reading too much into the words of a drug addict.
