A spectacular sport virtually unknown outside Asia is Sepak Takraw - volleyball played using feet, head, anything except hands or arms to get the ball over the net. Players spike the ball with their feet, which requires some fairly spectacular contortions of the body. Amazing game to watch.

Stop comparing the GM Golf vids to GG content. I look at GM vids as more pure golf. GG is messing around and competing with the fellas. Place for both! Also, if you're waiting for 10 minutes to hit your next shot, chances are the group in front of you is experiencing the same thing. Let the marshals move the pace. Stay in your lane.

The links golf caddie not knowing what constitutes a links golf course. What a shame. 1st if Location: Links courses are traditionally found along the coastline, where the land is sandy and well-drained. The word "links" itself comes from the Old English word for "rising ground or ridge," referring to the sandy areas that border the sea. 2nd is the land: The land should be sandy, which allows for good drainage and firm playing conditions. 3rd is natural hazards: Links courses make use of the natural features of the landscape, such as dunes, pot bunkers, and wispy fescue grasses. Trees are rare on links courses, as the strong coastal winds and sandy soil make it difficult for them to thrive.

Always interesting listening to Americans talk about cricket. I grew up playing and watching cricket in New Zealand. I’ll say this about cricket, it can be the most exciting sport on the planet and the most boring. Closest comparison to a US sport would be baseball. I’ve been to several games live in the US. All up cricket is a way better game and has much more strategy and skill set required than baseball. Hard to make a comparison the be fair, both sports are quite different. Cricket is also played in different formats at the highest level. T20, ODI, and test cricket. All involve differing strategy and approaches to the format. Best thing to do if you’re an American and interested is watch the T20 format. It has shorter games and lots of big hitting from the batters. Good vid, enjoying the matches in Cali.

Hopefully you can go see them. They brought in some of the guys from India and Pakistan and such.....I think a league like the Big Bash League in Australia would play in the States. Garrett - you were mentioning cricket. Look up Don Bradman, cricketer with the highest ever batting average of 99.94. Second best is 62.15 To give some context you might understand, best baseball average is Ty Cobb at 0.366. Second best is 0.358 So for Ty Cobb to be as much better than Donald Bradman was as the second best, his batting average would have had to be 0.576 !!! 🤯🤯🤯

Yes cricket is a massive sport. Particularly in India. Its our summer sport here in Aus. Australia vs India test cricket this summer (late Nov 2024 to early Jan 2025). Probably see close to 100,000 crowd on boxing day to watch cricket between these two teams. I do recommend watch European Cricket League “highlights” though. Funniest league out with the skill errors.

Cricket is massive in its niche mainly thanks to India - it's a religion in India & top Indian cricketers are treated like demi gods. Virat Kohli the current top Indian cricketer has 260 million+ subs on Instagram & 62 million on X. He makes upwards of 25-30 million US in endorsements & match fees annually. The Indian Premier League is worth about 10 Billion USD & is a 2 month annual cricket league held in India. & No, Garrett , Cricket is a tough complicated game & you'd suck at it.
@Pud566 ай бұрын
The Indian premier league cricket, is the most watched sports event anywhere in the world. It dwarfs all US sports events, which is why LIV golf is embracing ASIAN golfers and promoting into all Asia including SE Asia, this is ignored by the PGA at their peril. Growth of sports globally has most potential in Asia, we are familiar with Chinese and Korean athletes, especially in golf, but India, Pakistan and of course the Middle East are fast developing markets, you should embrace these yourselves.

If I could have spoken to you before you made your plans I would have suggested you skip Spanish Bay. The positive is - it is by the water. The negative - it is a tricked out course with goofy greens. I've played all the courses in the Monterey area and Spanish Bay was the only dog. Cypress Point is the king. Pebble is a bucket list destination. Spyglass is a gem you shouldn't miss. And there are so many others that are a joy: Bayonet and Black Horse, Carmel Valley Ranch, Tehama, Pacific Grove and more. I disliked Spanish Bay from the jump. But I was invited back several times - and I never liked it. I didn't play poorly. It just wasn't a course for me. Since you played it, I hope you enjoyed.

@stuartwood55716 ай бұрын
Spanish Bay was designed by Tom Watson and his good friend and x president of USGA Sandy Tatum. Compared to the other courses in the area you can play (PB, Spyglass, and Poppy Hills) it’s the least playable and not real fun. But it looks great.
