They were even better in the 2005-2011 Dynasty, when Pittsburgh went to three Superbowls in 6 seasons. Some of my fondest football memories were from that "young and dangerous Big Ben" era. We just had such a stacked team of pure talent. Think about it: Hines Ward, Heath Miller, Troy Polomalu, Ben Roethlisberger, Brett Keisel, Willie Parker, Jerome Bettis, Santonio Holmes, James Farrior, Larry Foote, and Silverback James Harrison himself... all in their PRIME (well, aside from Bettis). Even our backups were hard to beat in that era. We used to watch Charlie Batch come in and beat teams with winning records! It was fabulous. I mean seriously, what team had more talent than the Steelers from 2005 - 2011??? Nobody, that's who.

Looking back at this, you can kind of see why this Bengals team lost. As good as these players were, they were far too temperamental and volatile. They were completely undisciplined. And then you have them going against their hated rival the Steelers? It was a lot of tension that was ready to explode at any moment in this game. The current Bengals team that just won tonight was far more disciplined and played great all season. Joe Burrow will be a big time stud. Congrats Cincinnati for finally getting over this hump. I know this 2016 game still stings but at least now you have a playoff victory to heal. Update: Holy shit!! You guys are in the Super Bowl!! I’ll be rooting for you guys!!

Looking back at this game always makes me think about what would've happened later on if Ryan didn't get injured and Antonio didn't get hit like that.
@mayavenuemisfit814 Жыл бұрын
Being a Bengals fan, I have to wonder that if Burfict had never hit Antonio Brown, would we have won that game and finally been able to boast a playoff victory over the Steelers? An even bigger "what if" is what if Jeremy Hill had never fumbled the football in the first place. Had he not, it's likely this 19 minute video would never exist. But I guess we will never know. Thankfully, neither of our teams' players are content to maim each other on the field anymore and our games are a lot less violent and more focused on putting points on the scoreboard now. As for Ryan Shazier, I was happy to see him regain mobility and be able to resume a normal life, even though he unfortunately can't play football anymore.

I'm a lifelong Bengals fan. This game stung me for a long time. I don't know why, but it did. The very instant Burfict hit Antonio Brown, that is when the window of success slammed shut for the Bengals for the foreseeable future. A window that was nailed shut and boarded up until the team drafted Joe Burrow in 2020 and Ja'Marr Chase in 2021. I'm not even going to sugarcoat it. Had I been Mike Brown on January 9th, 2016, the very second Boswell's field goal went through the uprights to give the Steelers the lead, I would have went right down to the field and immediately fired Marvin Lewis. And I would have begged CBS to broadcast me doing so. You can blame Burfict, or Pac-Man, or Jeremy Hill all you want to. But Marvin ultimately is the one who couldn't control the team or keep them disciplined. And in addition to the team's bad behavior costing us the game, said bad behavior ended up going unpunished by Mike Brown and his family.

Marvin may not have been the best but at least he didn't start a season 0-10 or 2-14 like Zac Taylor. Won't give up on ZT since there have been bad coaches who won Super Bowls. I remember watching this game live... to have that hope and excitement only to have it crushed like that. I called my best friend and we were screaming at each other that we finally won a playoff game.

Imagine it: All those penalties, and then Boswell misses the game winning FG.

I was there. Craziest game I've ever seen. Only steelers fan in my section. Getting out of the stadium at the end was so rough. Saw the AB hit live. Crazy.

I can remember every emotion from this game. From aj scoring the td, the pick to seal the game, hills fumble, and big Ben coming back on the field. The second he walked on the field I knew it was over

13:10 Why is crowd booing? Burfict literally just tried to decapitate a human, and they think that's not a flag. Wtf?
@birdo6234 жыл бұрын
Every home team does that. They don't wanna hear the ref mumble about how their team just committed a penalty 🤷♂️

They were throwing trash at ben when he was carted off too, really standard behavior for Cincinnati fans
@firstnameanonymous93744 жыл бұрын
Because Cincinnati has some of the most garage human beings in the United States. It's where people who were ran out of town in Florida for incest go to marry their cousins and settle down and raise a family.

I can't speak for all the fans at the game, but I was booing Burfict because he did this shit way too much
@UndertakerU2ber4 жыл бұрын
Antonio Brown crashed into him. There’s no “decapitating” that happened. It’s a contact sport you wuss. Stuff like this happens all of the time. Stop crying.
