Weigh ins are a bigger problem than PEDs... The fighter should have to step on the scale before entering the cage. 155 fighters should weigh ,walk in at 155 + or - 2 lbs.
@ChucksSEADnDEAD
@ChucksSEADnDEAD 17 күн бұрын
It's just not possible. You can't control the weight you walk around at. A big meal, being under the weather, how long you haven't gone to the bathroom, etc can make you fluctuate.
@Rayven2711
@Rayven2711 17 күн бұрын
@@ChucksSEADnDEAD Agreed, weight in itself is not consistant enough. However certain fighters and body types make no sense for their weight classes. I don't understand how height/range never have been looked at when it comes to weight classes. You see freakishly tall and lengthy fighters at weigth classes you clearly see they should not be competing in.

@jonbuffry3175 17 күн бұрын
Awful idea. Imagine the amount of cancelled fights. Same day weigh ins would work a lot better but again. Running the risk of cancelled fights least if you have a day you can move the card as done before Only way deal with it is weigh in then agreed rehydration weight day of fight
@DaroriDerEinzige
@DaroriDerEinzige 17 күн бұрын
That would be actually be a great idea if you do it more realistically; not like "155 +/-2 lbs!" but rather like 10~12 lbs. Because of the before mentioned points. Yet the whole weigh in weeks before the fight is kinda whack, not only is the whole dehydration they all do not that good for your Kidneys and so on, it's also stupid because well know they bulk up as fast as possible afterwards. Which is also not so good for your heart. So in general; they should agree on some realistical tolerances at the weigh in + forbid any kind of PEDs.
@Rayven2711
@Rayven2711 16 күн бұрын
@@DaroriDerEinzige Weigh ins weeks before the fight?! What promotion exactly would that be? Official weigh ins take place roughly 24 hrs before the event takes place. Hence giving fighters a day of rehydration and slowly reaccustom to having meals. Talking about realistic tolerances while ignoring that PEDs in MMA are as old as the sport itself kinda makes me wonder. Loogistically speaking the testing of fighters living around the world by any organization impossible. You have fighters living in the US pissing in cups or giving blood way more often than ones living on the other side of the world if the Agency is us based. I really struggle with "fight fans" not seeing that PEDs are a huge part of MMA. Modern fighting is as "dirty" as past UFC rosters. Steroids in general are't understood by people...claiming fighters don't juice because they don't look the part...not all steroids are anabolic, not everyone uses HGH, not everyone has a testosterone lvl of 17/1 either. Stop pretending that people have to look like Brock Lesnar to roid...good examples historically were Royce Gracie or Anderson Silva. THESE GUYS LOOK LIKE YOUR AVERAGE DAD, no offense.

TRT, actual testosterone replacement therapy, is not steroid use. I hate it when abusers claim TRT. No, these guys were abusing steroids and calling it TRT. Testosterone replacement therapy can be a life saver for some men, but it's getting a bad reputation because of abusers. To get put on TRT, you have to take a blood test and show that your testosterone levels are below 300 nanograms per deciliter. If these doctors were prescribing testosterone without bloodwork, they should have their medical licenses revoked. A level of 1200 testosterone is not TRT. Doctors, when doing it legitimately will typically try to keep a man at between 500 and 600. No reputable doctor would ever have a patient at 1200.
@coltontaylor9301
@coltontaylor9301 15 күн бұрын
It’s still steroid use. TRT is not steroid abuse but it is still considered unnatural. Your test levels remain at a certain threshold constantly no matter what where naturally you would fall and rise due to a multitude of factors. Having constant levels means you are in a constant state of anabolic environment. But to your point, I do think there are many fake abusers claiming they are just taking TRT!! Also, most doctors are not even comfortable offering TRT because they really don’t know quite enough. Must see a specialist or endocrinologist
@navajo237
@navajo237 15 күн бұрын
To be fair, Test levels always fluctuate. Constantly. TRT may help those levels stay out of the problematic range of sub 300, but its never the same reading twice in a row. Outside factors that affect natural testosterone levels also affect TRT levels. Diet, exercise, sleep, tobacco, alcohol and obesity, As well as stress and body weight. Having said all that, people who believe that TRT usage will make someone look and behave like "TRT Vitor" is just not true. There is no way you can legally get to the levels that Vitor had, under the guidelines of an endocrinologist or nurse practitioner. TRT is regulated at the state level, and needs to be cleared before usage. "TRT" Vitor, needed much more Test than what would be legally prescribed. At least here in the states. Which means it was never TRT usage to begin with. It was full blown steroid abuse. And should not be lumped in together under those circumstances.

100% guys in the UFC were still using PEDs while USADA was around.... however, it's very important to note that the doses 95% were using were significantly smaller, literally called microsdoses as anything bigger would stick around in your system too long. The other 5% of fighters that are using PEDs are presumably the guys who have the money to hire doctors and chemists who can create designer drugs that are ahead of even the experts as they are not widely used or even known of in the beginning. One guy gets in a lab and creates it, gives it to his neighbor, works good and okay let's give it to UFC Fighter X lol but the fact remains that they were able to decrease PED use more than any other sport or organization in history.

The answer to all this is simple if your on contract then once a month on random days with a short warning time of 6 hours to report or be meet for a test. And post fight or major injury with a ufc doctor aproval they can use p.e.d for healing with weakly test until the Prescription is lifted to make sure thry ate with in limits and then a grace period after to let as much of the effects wear off as possible. And if a fight tests positive hit them with a set fine

The people they are cheating are themselves…of their health, and of the sense of accomplishment you get from achieving something on your own, like a man…like an athlete…like a fighter. I suggest the way out of these nonsensical quandaries are separate divisions; male, female, trans, enhanced and natural

I'd like to hear more about EPO, which has such an insane impact on combat sports but yet gets NO press. With that said, everyone should have autonomy over their own body. If you outlaw testosterone bc it works you also have to outlaw eating healthy.
