6 years ago there was a bank robbery in berlin: 45 meter long, 1.4m high tunnel in 4 meters depth, 120 tonnes of sand, a twist in it to lessen the noise, didnt trigger motion sensors, left no clues. Broke into 300 lockers. Police still have no idea. Sucks for the people that lost heirlooms, but otherwise no ones was hurt or anything.

Concidering the plane was still flying at only 15 minutes of fuel left when he revealed that there was no bomb, any small mistake or delay could have killed those 160 people on board. So this was a reckless crime or sure with little regard for the lives of those people.

There is no way a device can detect airplane altitude up to 2,500 meters (8,200ft). Aircraft detects their altitude by using pitot tubes mounted outside of the aircraft structure to measure the air pressure and hence altitude. Inside the aircraft, the pressurization system will maintain cabin altitude pressure way below outside altitude pressure, usually at the range of 6,000 - 7,000 ft cabin altitude, for passenger's comfort.

Am I the only one who Is irritated by the fact that the Qantas plane on the thumbnail does not exist. While it is indeed a 787 dreamliner. QANTAS has never operated a 787 with the livery shown in the thumbnail. Their 787s only came into operation after the qantas rebranding that changed the tail logo to a more minimalistic and modern kangaroo design that does not include the arms that can be seen on the livery shown on the thumbnail. On top of that apart from the airline, the plane shown in the thumbnail does not have any relation to the plane in the story. Anyway, apart from that great video.

They didn't even bother to launder their money? I mean seriously, all they had to do was buy and resell gold, jewelry, and art pieces worth just under $10,000 dollars (the minimum amount where entities have to report transactions) about 50ish times for the deed of sale, once they have the deeds, their blood money officially becomes legitimate income that in the eyes of the Australian government, and once they've paid their taxes, the thieves could've spent as much money as they pleased as successful "art and jewelry dealers"
