Actually, it was shown that the kids really thought of Mommy Longlegs as their mother. They were all orphans, and she served the role of mother to them all. The problem was that the Game Room where Mommy Longlegs worked was specifically designed to test kids before turning them into toys. That's why kids kept disappearing time and time again. It's not because they didn't love her or think of her as a mother, it's because they were being taken away for experimentation, after which Mommy Longlegs would never see them again.

In Catnap's shrine we DID see the parts of her trapped in the grinder. This means that Catnap was roaming outside of Playcare and COULD have been watching us.

Mommy's story is truly tragic. Despite having a fear of spiders, she is one of my favorite characters and hearing her scream as she dies is stabbing to the heart.

2:26 The kid's name was Marie Payne, not Mary. And she was chosen because she was one of the first to have a serious negative reaction to the red smoke Cat Nap was dosing the orphans with (Chapter 3 Claire Harper Interview). Marie's symptoms included a high fever, convulsions, racing heart, dilated pupils, severe hallucinations, etc and from the Playtime scientist's reaction to Claire Harper asking to see Marie it seems like maybe Marie's heart was giving out under all the stress so they rushed her into the program to save her life similar to how they made Theo Grambell into Catnap when he was fatally injured. I really enjoyed this video btw. I like how you lay out all the biological facts we know alongside the lore. ❤

One thing to point out is Mommy's relationship with the other toys in the Game Station. While it's never directly brought up, she seems to be holding these toys against their will and forcing them to obey her every command. I mean, the toys wouldn't exactly be staying in the Game Station otherwise considering Mommy's unstable demeanor, nor would they be following their game rules to a tee if PJ and the Mini Huggies are able to kill the Player almost instantaneously. Adding onto that, Mommy also holds no regard for their safety if she's willing to kill them for simple mistakes and then allow the Prototype to take their bodies. Aside from her declining mental health, we can assume that Mommy held them captive because during her work years, she may have found out about how hostile these toys were to the children playing with them. This can be inferred by how she was not only aware that the Mini Huggies were held back by strings so they wouldn't just kill the children, but she explicitly mentions that it's been a long time since Bunzo was able to "play, cheer, and eat" in Musical Memory.

1:25 - Incorrect According to the game's timeline, Elliot Ludwig could NOT have created the orphanage for the sake of creating living toys (in order to cut costs). This is because Elliot Ludwig canonically created the orphanage in 1976, which was THIRTEEN YEARS BEFORE Harley Sawyer propositioned Playtime Co. executives with the idea of the Bigger Bodies Initiative (1989).

However, Poppy Playtime (the character) was created some time during the 1960’s, and it was this specific one that Elliot Ludwig kept in a shrine inside his office.

I am TERRIFIED of Mommy Longlegs because I have pretty severe arachnophobia, but I also felt bad for her when I learned she was a child that was experimented on and severely traumatized. Honestly, if she swore on her life that she wouldn't hurt me, I would give her a hug; poor Marie needs it

The children didn't think of her as a mother, they called her "Mommy" cause her NAME is Mommy Longlegs. I think it adds to the mental games that the bigger bodies went through

I honestly though Marie Payne was chosen to become mommy longlegs, because her adoptive mother was making to much noise, when it came to Marie's reaction to the red smoke, that ended up giving her horrid nightmares. In the tape, it sounded like the adoptive mother was threatening the interviewee about Marie, and how she was being treated. with the mother gone, to many questions would be asked on just where she disappeared too. If Marie was gone also, Playtime co could have made some excuse about them both leaving the company to move elsewhere. I can't see Marie Payne's adoptive mother giving her up. them both having a tragic end makes sense.

Chapter 3 made me feel bad for Mommy Longlegs. In Chapter 2 there was a document that revealed the name of who had been turned into Mommy Longlegs being Marie Payne. And then in Chapter 3 hearing the name again in a VHS tape at the very being of the Chapter that shows how much trauma she went through before being turned into Mommy Longlegs along with details before the chapter's release from the Incident Report in the ARG that gives more insight on what happened.

It is the saddest character . 1. This young girl was turned into a “mommy” figure .. 2. a hour glass figure monster .. 3.she’s even on posters and the soda machine with her art looking really seductive and sexy … that was a child . Sexualized . Not to mention a husband daddy long legs was created for her . Kids forced to grow up kinda situation .. Wouldn’t be surprised if sexual abuse happened to these orphan children also . 😅I mean being dissected and experimented on was bad , but I’m sure staff did other horrible things

Mommy Long Legs was tragic, she was just a little girl, a orphan who got an awful reaction to the Poppy Flower. And because of it, she was experimented so she can live forever.

Mommy's story is really all about mental health. She has lost herself, her ego, her people and most importantly her kids. She believed the kids wanted to be with her and saw her as their actual mother, but they only cane for the games and didn't come back to have more fun with her. I would lose my mind too. When that grinder in that horrible room started going, I saw the emotions in her face. She had a horrible life and that's how she died. Her screams almost made me cry just by how she was in pain, fear and sadness. Some people were laughing at her: "That's what you get you idiot! Haha, get into the grinder!" I was like "oh no! Can we save her? She has something to say-" but then her organs exploded and her lifeless half- handed torso dropped on the floor. Sad.

3:13 -I think the red smoke is a new, unregulated Opiod that Playtime R&D stumbled across while working with the poppy extract. Its not just a calming sleeping gas and they were aware of that but did not expect the mood altering drug to have the extereme levels if side effect it did.

She wasnt putting on a fake facade and she wasnt evil by choice . Let me explain. She was a little girl by the name of Marie payne who was having hallucinations due to catnaps red smoke that was the reason she was turned into mommy long legs . She had built-in anger for the staff in playtime co because they were the ones who turned her into the monster we know today . She wanted to take revenge on the staff for the things they did to the other experiments and herself which is the reason she put on a fake facade to mask her frustration. She deeply cared for the experiments because she knew what they went through. She slowly went crazy since she was trapped in a factory for her whole life. She was happy when the children came because she had company to play and talk with . But since the hour of joy she had nobody to talk to and went insane. If the employees were not cruel to the orphans they would have been nice and happy . Mommy long legs was only kindx

My thoughts about her is its kinda heart breaking to know how when they took the kids from the games to turn them into toys it made her believe they will never come back and leave her to die alone maybe she probably knew some of those kids was in those bigger body and smaller body experiments maybe thats why she still protected them considering like u said she has that motherly instinct (yes shes my favorite character)

Some might disagree, but I think CatNap is way more deranged than Mommy Long Legs. He’s so much more obsessive and psychotic. Edit: Also I think Playcare was founded with good intentions, but it was reformed under the Bigger Bodies Initiative in the 90s.

I mean, at least Catnap tried to kill the player for the Prototype, Mommy Long Legs just straight up tried to kill the player for fun and revenge. Mommy Long Legs even blamed the player for cheating even though she cheated first, and what I meant by she cheated first is that: She manipulated the machines in musical memory to make it way harder than usual. She gave poor lighting in the wack-a-wuggy section. And she blocked the way out in Statues. Mommy Long Legs even laughed while chasing the player. Catnap keeps himself more serious than Mommy Long Legs during his boss fight. And in fact, Mommy Long Legs is a villain known to be a "Sadistic trickster".

I genuinely believe (although it's been a while since I've seen chapters 1 and 2 in detail) that Elliot Ludwig started the company with good intentions, as you said, but I feel like the death of his...daughter... is that who it was? is what led him to experimenting with the eternal preservation of human life...and it spiraled out of control from there. And in the game, I think we're playing as a doctor or scientist because that's one of the only types of employee positions that would have had _direct_ influence and contact with the girth of the experiments and transfers. And it makes sense for the characters who have lines similar to "You should have been there"/"you were supposed to be there")

We literally killed a child who turned insane and turned into a living toy. Like Theodor aka Catnap. Let's see who appears in the next chapter and was turned into a toy. 😐

I think what MLL meant by saying the prototype would make her a part of him is that he’d take the chip that’s placed in the back of the heads of all the toys. Like what would the prototype even do with what’s left of MLL with the exception of that chip, not to mention the fact that he just leaves the rest of her body. That’s probably why CatNap willingly gave himself up so that the prototype could take that chip. It seems like they’re being placed in some kind of paradise within the mind of prototype. Thats most likely what CatNap’s shrine is referring to.

Playcare was founded in 1976 by Ludwig, the bigger bodies initiative was Harley Sawyer's Idea in the '90s . So saying that Playcare was created for the bigger bodies initiative its far fetched... Its unclear if Ludwig ever Experimented on the orphans or if he actually carrd for them.

Maybe they started with the bigger body program after Eliot Ludwig died. I guess Ludwig was against the bigger body program by founding it inhuman (i mean experiments doing on kids. I can't believe that Ludwig liked it because he was horrified when the scientist made Poppy. So i don't think that Eliot was against it but when he died (?) the scientist had free range of the factory and the orphans and experiments until the hour of Joy. I still believe that the prototype is Eliot Ludwig and he wanted revenge for the torture the scientist put the kids through. 🤔

Its unclear if Elliot or others experimented on the orphans prior to the BB initiative. The orientation notebook states that the biologic toys experiments started a long time ago as the poppy dolls had biologic components that made them smart but the book also states that the Playcare was founded in the 1976, so its unclear the origin of the biologic parts, the book also points up that they made A LOT of Poppy dolls.... The book also let us know that a Poppy doll (probably the one we freed) was kept by Elliot near his office like he wanted to be able to visit her anytime. As the book portraits Ellliot as a lonesome man and the poppy dolls as companion dolls for lonely people she was probably like a makeshift daughter for him kinda like Pinocchio and Geppetto... either way she is totally his creation as he kept her existence as a secret. The prototype most likely its another creation of Elliot he kept as a secret, as Harley Sawyer had to study it he clearly didn't make it. these are the facts we know so far from the game, book and args... As Theories, IMO both Poppy and the prototype are Elliot secret creations and lost technologies after his death. Poppy could possibly be Elliot masterpiece, a truly living doll created in order to have a daughter, but wasnt studied cause they assumed it was just a regular Poppy Doll. The Prototype was created to transfer an human brain into an artificial body, its unclear if it is actually Elliot or a test subject. After Elliot death in 1989 he tried to escape but ended up being captured and studied after he rescued Theodore. Harley Sawyer started the bigger body initiative to experiment both on the brain transplant procedure and artificial biologic bodies technology cause he wanted to achieve immortality. The experiments weren't supposed to merely save money by making slaves, mind the Final Log VHS in chapter 1, it states the importance of the experiments that needed to be pushed foward at any cost, even if the other people Don't understand. Long story short, Elliot as he was a Genius secretly achieved artificial biologic bodies that Don't age and are virtually immortal and was capable of transplanting human brains in those bodies. After his death Harley Sawyer and other scientists studied and retro-engeneered said technologies using the bigger bodies initiative as testing ground in order to achieve immortality. Its compatibile to Stella desire to not age and having a longer lifespan and Sawyer 's ambition to overcome Mortality

its bc hers is pretty simple. catnap before the bigger body was named theo, the prototype was communicating with him and getting to help him escape. and when he was hurt they rushed to make him catnap. catnap idolizes the prototype while mommy just slowly went crazy

I honestly think the children did love Mommy as evident to the drawings of them with her but due to the game station's cruel purpose and one way trip gimmick, the children never stayed long enough to form a bond with her thus causing Mommy to go insane though her attachment issues could've likely caused problems as well if the children ever did return or stayed for too long

I just want to say that you produce some really great content sir... at first Mommy Long Legs was just a basic hororr character to me... just another evil toy in Poppy's playtime... this discussion totally made me feel sorry for her... I always have a lot of empathy for villans nowadays... I mean tbh if WE were abandoned and mistreated and all alone for years.... quite a few of us would snap...GRANTED lol I would hope that we would not go around eating people...but hell we do live a world where that kinda stuff happens.... Hey guys, did you know that in terms of male human and female toy breeding, Mommy Long Legs is the most compatible toy for humans? Not only are they in the stretchy group, which is mostly comprised of toys, Mommy Long Legs are an average of 3”03’ tall and 63.9 pounds, this means they’re large enough to be able handle human dicks, and with their impressive Base Stats for HP and flexibility, you can be rough with one. Uhm... :/ I don't think the toys are capable of reproduction. They're lab created, and Playtime Co wouldn't want them to produce more of themselves without their involvement and regulation. Plus, a lot of the bigger body "toys" are technically children- so yeah, yikes. I don't think it's necessary or morally correct for the scientists to add stuff like that, lol. If we're really trying to go into the possible weird details... they've probably given them a cloaca or something that functions like a birds, where it's for both number 1 and 2. And then they'd sterilize them.

Also a lot of them are literally kids, so I don't think it's morally correct or neccasary for them to add something like that. If we're really trying to answer the anatomy thing, though- I think for convenience sake, and to avoid all of that, they'd probably give them a hidden cloaca that functions like a birds. It's an orifice used for going both number 1 and 2, if you know what I mean. And then they'd just sterilize them. TDLR: None of them have a no-no square because it's just not necessary. Honestly, after looking at the full backstory now, it honestly makes it more saddening when looking back at her death. 😢 Even if she might not be my favorite, I think this in-depth vid made her be in my Too 10. 😅

Shes definitely the craziest out of the toys since she can somewhat mask her real persona until her breaking point. (Ms.Delight probably 2nd craziest) It's crazy since she can spread her limbs/finger/hair whatever but imagine if she was willing to use more of the web she created in the game that would of been worse for the player. I wonder if she was seen like a mother figure for the smiling critters in the play care if she was able to go down there. I think it would of been cool to see or read are main antagonist interactions together if that happened or not. People were happy thsy we've killed her at the end along with the rest of the toys but if the player had any bad intentions or ignored what the scientist did to the children then it makes more sense on why she wanted to kill the player. She depicts a mother perfectly ans that's what makes her dangerous even as an adult it's like disrespecting your parents can also take a turn for the worst and that's what Mommy shows in chp 2

At 1:48 I do not think they use souls, instead they transplant organs like the brain into the body That’s the reason i always loved poppy playtime over FNAF because it has more realism

Strength wise catnap although it says she is strong to but catnap is also faster and stealthily. However when it comes to the poppy gas we don't know if that would affect mommy or not since she can literally get the upperhand with her long limps wrapping it around him or sticking him to her webs. She also gets to higher ground where he can't since she literally seems to hide or wait by the ceilings as well they both got stealth but shes most likely to make her presence known where catnap wouldn't. I think it all depends who gets the first strike though.

Personally my favorite is catnap, not for any weird reason like some people, just because of his patience, he could technically have killed every single living creature in playtime co. room by room, but he didn’t, he could have killed us at any time, instead he warned us to leave and faked his own death to get us to leave him alone, he could be king of playtime co., but instead he chose to stay in playcare

@@TheFreakness96It’s mostly unlikely that Leith took advantage of Playcare for his deeds. ON mentions that Leith somewhat idolized Elliot in a way by attempting to continue on the experimentation. And the doctor mentioned that there were failed experiments while proposing the Bigger bodies initiative, meaning that experimentation existed before the initiative was accepted. As ON mentions that “experimentation existed for a long time in the company cause that’s what makes its products unique.” And Elliot had a slide in game station, which could mean that he was probably active during the bigger bodies initiative

Hopefully we get a spin-off series or another game. After diving into almost every poppy playtime vid I realized how obsessed I've become lol & I want more💀. I feel like that the kids driver Mommy insane, that at the Hour of Joy, she would’ve killed the kids. If u think abt it, again they were only interested in games, not Mommy herself. In Mommy’s perspective, she probably did it for revenge.
