What a wonderful video! I have some fun turning up the volume to hear what you're saying, then have to quickly turn it down as you demonstrate so not to lose my hearing (or my neighbors). Please, Paul, keep these videos coming! Bless you and yours!

There's so much complexity in the process of producing organ music -- something most people are aware of I think. But I'm new to the experience! So I'm just now learning how much variation there can be from one country to another! Fascinating. Thanks so much for this wonderful tour of Northern Italy!

Dear Paul, this was another amazing video. Thank you for sharing this beautiful organ with me and the tour of the amazing architecture of the church building. Checking out all the organs and pianos when going to new places is the top of my list of things to do!! You’re a man after my own heart!❤️ Thank you so much, Royden

This is so impressive, Paul. I'm sure it takes some getting used to in order to figure out these Italian instruments. It's cool that they provide such surprising stops (the percussion, for instance). Your taking us through the stops is always a learning experience and a joy! Thank you!

An interesting Italian pipe organ. The drum and cymbal operated by a foot pedal is surprising. What church compositions would that be helpful? Thanks for sharing your experience, Paul
@micheledallalba89504 ай бұрын
A lot of composition from the period, such as the one made by Padre Davide Da Bergamo, are marches and joyful music, and it's not uncommon to find bells, drums either real or simulated by two contrabbass pipes, carrilons and other effects. Basically on the positiv you keep a flute 8 with a piccolo either 1 or 2 and on the great full organ where you can insert all the various effects depending on the piece

The Voce Umana is not a vocal imitative stop, but rather Strings and Celestes in the Italian organs. The name is just similar to Vox Humana. Very short pedalboard, almost like spinet pedals, I'll bet you miss a combination action. Clackety clack!

I am amazed at how much these churches and their organ stairs resemble a theater stage - all the paint and care on the façade facing the public, not so much behind the scenes. Rickety and steep stairs, mismatched plywood, dubious paint in mismatched colors, mold, mildew, water stains, and worse. At least they don't have a fly loft like a theater does.

Liturgically speaking, the choir is part of the sanctuary and probably more liturgically correct to be within the sanctuary than in the back of the church.

Danke Maestro Paul!

This organ looks to be much more well kept than some of others you have visited on this tour - which is great to hear the true sound of the instrument. You must be getting used to the ‘strange’ pedalboards, when do they date from?
@micheledallalba89504 ай бұрын
Typically from mid '700 to late '800, most of them are '700 and later revisited and expanded. Later than that consoles got standardized with a now typical pedalboard

I'm interested to see if the "Turkish band" stop is trying to emulate a real Turkish band, or what Europeans thought a Turkish band sounds like...

Maybe you should start playing some music instead of playing 300,000 stops, after three times we know and it's really enough. Play some music.
