Please do share more videos like this. You're a good storyteller and we need more folks like yourself keeping these memories alive. Another channel I follow "History Hunters" ( @jbenziggy ) included Charley Parkhurst in his episode 3 weeks ago while visiting the Watsonville cemetery. She was an amazing individual who deserves to be remembered. I agree, her perseverance is a great example of the American spirit that created this great nation. Thank you!

What an amazing piece of our American history. What a pioneer she was! I thoroughly enjoy your videos they are a great escape from the craziness… stories like these should be shared for all to appreciate and for future generations to learn. They unfortunately don’t teach and share our history in schools anymore. Keep them coming Bass! ☮️🤙🏻

LSU or LSO carved in the rock 4:55 left side of the screen! Cool story!

Good eye! It was LSU. I looked for a date, but didn't find any. I did find some dates from the 70's & 80's in the same area, so might have been around the same time.

My mom, who’s in her 80s, was telling me, one of her aunts moved across country from west to east on a stage coach, in the 1880s: fascinating stuff. Thanks for the story sir.

I bet that was quiet the adventure back then. They must have been tough, I can't imagine the beating they took in the stage on those rough roads/trails. Thanks for sharing.

WOW! Now that is some interesting history. Can't even imagine being that tough.

I could never figure out how she fooled so many people for all those years. Even her bosses at Wells Fargo thought she was a man. She must have been really butch or something, but in a cool way.

@@LowBudgetExploration I have hiked the coach trail to San Diego through Cuyamaca. I just can’t imagine. Maybe they had tricks or were just whacked out on opiates. I guess the horses could only go 4 hours or so. Maybe that was how they did it.
