Fun fact….. the song was leaked a week and half before she performed it on the BET awards. The video was filmed 2 days before this performance and was released in mid July 2006. I remember this day! These were the times. Now look at her, introducing Team USA at the Olympics

This is why when people call Chloe “extra” I laugh. Of course she is extra, she studied from the book of Beyonce and this is an example. I remember watching this when I was young and to see Beyonce only getting better is crazy. Beyonce was and IS extra as hell 😂 and that’s why we love her so much. And anyways great reaction you guys.

The fact that this is Beyoncé’s very FIRST performance of “Déjà Vu” and it happened only THREE DAYS after its release to radio as a single. Meaning, this performance was likely the first time a lot of people in the audience and at home had even HEARD the song, not to mention she hadn’t even released the music video yet. This speaks volumes to how much Beyoncé believed in this song as well as how much of a risk taker she has always been.

Yooo so let me just say this and paint this oh so beautiful picture .. the year was 2006. The BET awards was worth watching , so you tuned in to see what was poppin off . The open credits to the show pop up and you hear , “BASE” and see the silhouette of BEYONCÉ. It’s a song you never heard before because if I remember correctly, it had not yet been released to radio stations ! Then Beyoncé running down two steps talking about “BET , I’M READY!!!” Like, “girl what ?!?! “ is the only thing in you can think with that statement for a song that is not yet mainstream . Then she pops off and I mean POPS off WITHOUT a single back up dancer !!! She served vocals, body, stamina and straight up Mamba mentality .. THEN let me tell you something that doesn’t get enough love… while she is doing this iconic back bend she cues the horns with her arm at the peak of her back bend and comes right back up to serve face and body when Hov says “I just make the hits like a factory.” Then she says “I try to CATCH MYSELF” and falls to the damn floor serving more vocals and pops back up hitting them moves , runs to the side of her guitarists and glides to the middle of that stage where it all began and served a pose for the last cues of the horns “bump, bump , bump” and struck a commanding pose to finish it off !!! Ladies and gentleman this is how you OPEN A SHOW!!!! What a time to be alive !!!!

Love y'all & your reactions always!! ❤ Not sure if anyone has mentioned this in the comments already, but in documentaries Bey has talked about how her dad Matthew would have her running laps at a park in Houston while belting out notes when she was VERY young. Then, to top it off, she's also a perfectionist Virgo who will stay up longer than the rest of the crew and rehearse harder than any of her dancers or back up, because it just has to be right (I've seen her doing dance routines after going for TWO DAYS with no sleep). I have so much respect & admiration for her work ethic, and it's the reason why her performances look and sound like this (in addition to her insane talent ofc). 😍 I can't wait for y'all to finally watch Homecoming. The BTS of that show is gonna really explain what I'm talking about ^. BUT, another amazinggg Beyoncé BET performance was her and Kendrick Lamar performing "Freedom" & that was more recent too! Would love to see y'all check it out if you're interested. Much love! 🥰🥰

People don't realize that Beyonce's athleticism is unmatched. Beyonce's core muscles are made of steal and she has perfect control of her breathing and core muscles like butta. Her had Mathew had Beyonce singing while running on the treadmill in her younger days. Her dad had her running on a treadmill and singing to build her endurance and stamina. Nobody and I do mean nobody is as athletic, toned and fit as Beyonce. Her physical work ethic and physical workouts puts most athletes to shame.
