A female vocal and a percussionist that work well together is awesome... Siouxsie and Budgie ... great combo.

Self harm?!? No way; listen to the lyrics… “She’s the prettiest thing I’ve ever seen..wanna feel my fingers digging into this…” “Never say never…do it again..” I feel that’s it’s an intense song about a Lesbian experience😍🥰👍🏻♥️🌎🏙🧛♀️

This song captures the illness of self-harm so well... Because of how much emotional pain those people are in, and how much of it has built up to unbearable levels, a sharp razor does personify as something beautiful that can help. The brain tells you to bleed out the pain, and that cutting is the right solution, not having the energy or patience for healthy ways to heal. God, I remember those days...

Watching it turn to scab & scar is then healing in a sense bc its like mind-fucking urself telling u that the pain u were feeling that got u to cut is now finally or begun to heal physically so in turn can or is also able to sort of heal finally mentally &/or emotionally as well too (imo or experience anyway) Took a long time for me to finally be able to rationalize it or analyze/ relate/ understand it in those terms, to myself when I wouldn't know y i felt catharsis thru that

I beg to differ. The original is darker and creepier with more than a nod to Suicide. It's perfect.

I've always read this as a serial-killer love letter; the self-harm reading never occurred to me, but I can see it as a possibility. Don't know what that says about me; probably nothing super-great, heh!

the lyrics to me seem sexual and maybe purposefully sinister. I kind of wonder who the person describing "her" is and what their intentions are. Of course this only what it seems like to me.

Razor’s edge = fingernails. It’s not about cutting! 😂

I agree 100%..it’s not about suicide/self harm at all…I agree..The title is “The Prettiest Thing…” These other “interpreters” are way off. I feel it’s about her first lesbian experience.. “Never say never do it again…” ♥️♥️♥️

Sometimes I Kind of prefer The Howie B Remix more, although the original album version is great, disturbing, minimal but darker.

I think it's about cutting. And, the high that comes knowing if you cut too deep suicide might happen.
