I'm writing a fictional book, and in it, there is a reference to Cree Indians. The protagonist, during his journey from Deadwood, South Dakota, to Klondike, Yukon, in 1887, meets a Cree tribe near Northern Montana or Calgary. Can you please tell me if this is historically accurate or not? Thank you for this video.

Yes. I'm Cree and we gonall the way to peace river. After peace river you would meet Dene. They are not us way different but the same skin color. Not even sure if they are the same race they are short and they talk funny. Nice people to me and my people but I see them being very mad about the white people we forced to live here! They turned out to be very dirty. Even the name canada kanata it means pure and clean. Because compared to the settlers we bathed every day and tried to force them to.
