Whenever I tell someone im going to be an Assistant Director the response is always "Why would want to be an assistant, wouldnt you rather be an actual director" ..... you just dont understand

True why can’t they just be like “ Congratulations im so happy for you, hope that job makes you happy”? Like tht happens to me so much that literally went to the point that every time someone ask me about my dream career i just say that I don’t know.

I always say the second unit directors are important especially if you want well shot and edited action scenes...so when I see great action on screen..I always look at second unit directors on a big movies..

Do not EVER pay anyone to teach you to be a PA. A person with common sense and a good work ethic can be a PA and do well in the film biz. As a PA you can walk in off the street and start working as long as you FOLLOW ORDERS and act professionally. Professional film workers respect PAs and dont abuse their inexperience but try to teach them . Any so-called "school" that charges people money to "learn" this entry level position is ripping people off.
