Little story for anyone who cares - went to go see Johnny Marr play Warehouse23 in Wakefield about a year ago, me and my friends got there early to meet Johnny. After we did, we went to a nearby pub and came back to see him by the stage door having a chat with the Cribs! We got too shy to go say anything to them, probably for the best...

One of those bands you should jealously keep up in your heart: thse guys break the line between rock and alternative scene! Delight your ears by the flawlessness of this song, it captivates me, I proudly became addicted to it! Attending a gig by The Cribs might be spellbinding and unforgettable, for sure! Who had the opportunity to see them play live?
@rbenny8117 жыл бұрын
I've seen them live a couple times in NYC but not with Johnny Marr, one of my Alternative heroes. Last time I saw them at Music Hall Of Williamsburgh, very lively show and the crowd energy was through the roof. The crowd fed off the band, the band fed off the crowd. It was a raucous night. Raucous in a real good way

I’ve seen them 3 times. Once at the Manchester Albert Hall and it was immense. Second time was at Ynot festival and the whole crowd was one big happy moshpit. Third time was at Gorilla in Manchester and it was an intimate gig. The boys were incredible and Gary said “I love you too” when I shouted to him. These guys have been ultimately life changing to me and I couldn’t be more grateful for every single piece of music they release.

This record is brilliant. Not often i hear owt these days worth mentioning. Had this have been 1980, this would have hit the top. Thats no bad thing, it takes a genius to bring it all back again. Can we obliterate the X factor & bring back Top Of The Pops so that bands with sheer talent can get past Cowells cheesy grin & get a foot in?

@hatescoutingforgirls i noticed a synth is dominant as well and im sure that credit doesnt go directly to johnny marr. but the last album style had that single note melody that theyve always had but you hear the chords progressions have changed drasticly. They actualy used a 13th chord on one track i recall and the use of a slide is herd. thats all the major difference i herd in the new album. You can say that made them sound not like themselves but it has improved the cribs sound in my opinion.

@fidler2326 Johnny Marr's been totally positive for The Cribs! Sure their older stuff was rawer and grittier (and yeah, probably better too) but people change, you can't expect them to stay the same band... If your not willing to watch and try to appreiciate The Cribs new direction (which is fucking great) then your not a true fan.

it's my impression or some bands from the past decade are getting mature, they for example, foals in their last disc specially Spanish Sahara sounds so different from single Hummer and Antidotes, here in Mexico I've listened some reviews from The Strokes in Lollapalooza, and said "they sound much better than in other presentations, i've seen before, they sound mature, a good mature", like I said, it's my impression or the new decade force them
