This was a song my ex and I would listen to a lot, I was the one that introduced her to the cribs and she showed me a band called fidlar, we held both of these bands close to our heart even after a little break when we still saw each other every week, I would talk to her for hours after her work and she would listen to whatever song I would play that week, but I fucked up and ghosted her after something incredible stupid because I wasn’t in the right head space, and it’s a regret I will have for the rest of my life, later I tried to contact her but her old phone number wasn’t connected to her anymore and she never used social media so it became impossible to find contact, I still listen to fidlar and think about her all the time, I don’t expect her to listen to the cribs anymore or to even think about me anymore but I will always wish her the best in life, Ellie you were one of a kind and had a heart of gold, don’t ever let anyone take it from you.

This was the closer at Coventry Kasbah and they even used pink confetti when it reached the climax of this song. What. A. Tune. I think it’s got to be my favourite Cribs song. 🎆

But were you better on your own? To all my sisters I promise you this that I’ll try and be brave for you I’ll try and be brave for you You’re sitting behind those walls No one to visit, head full of regret And sometimes I forget too And you don’t even have a clue Were you better on your own? To all my sisters I promise you this that I’ll try and be brave for you I’ll try and be brave for you...yeah As someone you’ll never know Do you picture me alone? Now the bird that sung has flown Do you picture me alone? But were you better on your own? To all my sisters I promise you this that I’ll try and be brave for you I’ll try and be brave for you And maybe I’ll never know But something tells me that somewhere in Maryland A cherry blossom grows Bury me with pink snow Were you better on your own? To all my sisters I promise you this that I’ll try and be brave for you I’ll try and be brave for you...yeah

But something tells me that...Somewhere in Maryland... I'd love to hear the story behind this. The cherry blossoms in DC are beautiful, so they must have been inspired while touring there.

No, it's to celebrate feminism, from a male, emphatic POV. They all, Gary in particular, are firm believers in equal rights for women, and femininity being recognised, accepted, and respected, even celebrated, without femnazism. I agree with them, but draw the line at femnazism

As valid as the above comment is, according to Ryan on Cribs Instagram Live, it’s also about a really “fucking good night.” With the instrumentals and how this song seems to maintain its energy throughout until it closes, I can totally see that
