Fun fact (and this isn’t a spoiler BTW): But we’ve seen the lady (the one with the big titties and pointed/elf ears) that inspired Megumin to master explosion magic before in the original Konosuba series. Light novel fact: Megumin keeps putting points in making her Explosion more powerful - this also increases the mana cost, which keeps her from having enough mana to stand afterwards even though her mana steadily increases with her levels.

Woman elf from start was in hot springs with Hans (poison slime ) at the end of S2. And it would be interesting if Explosion magic was made a joke beacause someone didnt want people to know it because it can basically be 1 hit KO for strong oponents.

I think more likely it's considered a joke because it just has an absurdly high MP cost and, most of the time unless you're against an absurdly powerful enemy, you could just use regular Advanced Magic to accomplish the same thing.

The reason Megumin passes out, yet the woman doesn’t is because Megumin puts ALL her stat points into explosion, increasing the mana usage. The other lady didn’t. Despite the new visual effects, megumin’s explosions are stronger.

Actually it's because the other lady is Wolbach. She's (half of) the Goddess of Destruction. (The other half is the thing she blows up - which then becomes Megumin's familiar)

i knew i’d like this show, but i didn’t even think that there would be any sort of relatability like there ended up being for me. i really like that even though nobodies taking her seriously, and everyone looks down on explosion magic, she really cares about it and wants to become the best at it. a lot of things that i’m interested in people treat the exact same way, so i know how that shit feels. and i know how it feels to prove them wrong and be great at whatever it is that they were looking down on

It's not so much about looking down..we know from watching the main series that it can only be cast once(well there are exceptions)..it's too much of a risk if a character is adventuring alone so people avoid learning it

The reason megimime cannot move after exploding is because she doesn’t have enough mana to cast the spell and have some left over, explosión takes up so much that the only reason she can cast it is because she is a crimson demon, She can, however upgrade her mana just a little bit and be able to move after, she has had many upgrade points but put them all into make her magic srronger

It takes a lifetime to learn to be able to cast that spell and still be standing,by the time "humans" in the konosuba verse get to that point then they are approaching old age(there are drawbacks to thier stats at this point)..that is why most people stay away from learning explosion magic.

the spinoff is just 3 volumes, so im pretty sure theyll adapt everything this season. Itas actually a smart move to go with the prequel, to build the hype up for the franchise. Wolback and the scene she appears and what happens is explored in volume 8 or 9 of the main series. And possibly will be covered in s3 of konosuba (they announced a new anime, idk if it will be a movie or a series).

Iirc, Megumin spent all her attribute points into Explosion magic and not the things needed to be able to handle it. She can use it but ofc gets fucked up because of the lack of stats needed to use it.
