The Critic - Webisode 1 - HD

'The Critic' is one of my favourite TV shows that was cancelled way before its time. Long after it was cancelled, these rarely seen webisodes were made. They're not as funny, well written or as well animated as the original by far, but i'll take anything that has Jon Lovitz and Maurice LaMarche in it any day! These were included on 'The Critic' DVDs, but were of horrible quality. So i managed to acquire the original Flash documents that these were made from over 13 years ago, and made HD versions. It wasn't as easy as i'd imagined. The flash files were very old, and so converted horribly, had terrible quality audio, bad scripting etc etc. So i had to do a lot of work, re-source and reedit the audio and even reanimate some of the tweens that had not converted properly to get it to this point. I also changed the beginning and end to make it fit a bit more with the TV versions. But hopefully it's worth it. Let me know if you'd like me to do more.

Basically it went down like this: "We want new episodes of The Critic" *gets new episodes of The Critic* "No not like that!" and we never got more again :(

These feel like the scraps of a once great meal. This show WAS one of the best things on television. But it was so great because of ALL these characters. Now they're gone. Even Alice, Duke, and Doris. It feels like... it's all gone...

They were included on the DVD, but they were originally made for the web by Atom Films in around 2000 :)

The art seems glossier, but the animation seems more jagged than the original. It still has its wit though which is the most important quality.
