Not only an ultimate trooper but a great story teller. It's a shame because a lot of Aussies disregarded Steve because they thought he was too cliche and he was putting it on. But no, he's truly like this, what a champ. He actually bought a piece of my school where there was just mangroves and wildlife and what makes Steve the legend that he is, is that he would just buy HUGE chunks of land and then just leave it be. To let the animals leave in piece. RIP

God, that chomp he got on his heel from that crocodile must have hurt. It's obvious he learned an important lesson from that: make sure that a captured croc's mouth is completely secured. "Thanks a lot!!" LOL!

Watching some of the tyhings he did was concerning, but then again he got the conservation message out there. I have to admire the passion he had for wildlife. Yes maybe he went to far and got to close to wild animals that would rather just be left alone, but he did get the kids interested in thge natural world around them in a way other conservationists/naturalists didnt.
