The show in the Bay Area .was actually in Berkeley. The Venue was the Legendary Ruthies inn. There was a a small riot that escalated after the local street gang from the neighborhood decided to start 43:50 a fight with a group of punk rock kids outside the place. By the time Cops arrived it was total chaos. The place went into lockdown . GBH finished the show with Colin and the whole place screaming out Drug party 526. That night was forever cemented in Punk rock , Hardcore , Crossover History. I still have my “age of choral “ album that a young John Joseph and Harley Flanagan wher selling out of the back of a car the band was traveling in . After 37 yrs . This is how I remember it . Apologies in advance if I’m off a little on something….

Oh man, JJ stumbles back and falls and then bobbles the mic. Nice save though. This is the oldest footage I've ever seen. I think I heard Age of... either this year or in '87. It was right around when it came out. My old guitarist showed them to me. I was into thrash and speed punk at the time. I remember him telling me, you gotta hear this record I just picked up. I asked, is it fast??. He said, no man but it kicks ass. I've loved it ever since. This was the beginning of my listening to hardcore. Didn't get to see them until '91 at the Last Thrash Bash. Back then long hairs weren't overly welcome at hardcore shows unless you were known and I didn't know anybody until much later. It's great seeing footage this old.

Cool story - I was also into thrash and plain old metal. I saw an ad for a Black Flag album in some metal mag which said; "A Black Flag song is heavy." I wondered if it was fast, though. Well a week or two later Black Flag was playing in San Antonio & I went to the gig because of that ad. I was converted to punk & hardcore that night. Few months later Cro Mags came to town touring Age Of Quarrel. One of the best shows I've been to, even though they were opening up for some metal band, maybe Anthrax?
