Joerg, does or plan EK-archery also airguns ? Because they could use the lever mechanism to compress air, ideally you would have a relatively fast shooting air-pistol without the need for co2 capsules or compressors.

@@DAN19792 Yes but they use a spring behind the barrel which makes the gun quite long or the beeman pistol types which are slow to reload. I suggest to build air-pistol with the compactness of the beeman and fastness of the revo7.

This is what I thought of for the people that don’t think it doesn’t do any different it kind of like a needle and a pencil a needle can poke through stuff easier than a sharpen pencil so that’s why the smaller bolt is a little better and keep it up on your videos I’ve been watching you for years. KZbin hat mir und einigen anderen größeren Kanälen diese KI-Audio-Dubbing Option freigeschaltet. Funktioniert einigermaßen bei englischsprachigen Videos, die dann simultan auf Deutsch übersetzt werden. Bei deutschen Videos aber geht alles in die Hose. Einfach auf das Zahnrad (Settings=Einstellungen) gehen, bei "Audio Track" dann "English (original)" anwählen und schon hast Du den deutschen O-Ton.

Joerg's solid steel nail bolt could be a new line of bolts, A 22 steel nail fitted with flights would be ideal especially for the weigh as it will increase the weight of the bolt.

I understand you haven't found any damage to the crossbow because of light arrows. But it's hard to say what is going on internally with the bow's limbs until it's too late. That is why the bow is so noisy and not good for hunting. Too much energy is still being absorbed by the bow limbs and bow itself and not the arrow. That is why crossbows have thick and somewhat heavy arrows to absorb that energy. You can have the fastest bow in the world but if that arrow isn't absorbing that energy, speed is all you have. Up close the arrow would past through a target but much further down range it won't.

Since I already have a few Cobras, I was thinking of buying either the Revo 7 or the Interceptor. But, after weighing all the pros and cons, I'm going to buy the Whipshot. Main reason: I have a bunch of 15-inch bolts for it; I just have to buy those special nocks. Secondly, small arrows with different hunting tips deviate significantly from the trajectory of regular arrows, so the sight needs to be adjusted for both types of tips (or it should have different sights for each tip type), which is a pain in the.... For 15-inch arrows (Cobra R9/RX), I have hunting tips that have a very similar trajectory to those regular tips. Lastly, repeating the Whipshot does not require changing the line of aim like with all the other crossbows, even on the Revo 7.... Oh, BTW, Whipshot doesn't have the automatic safety that I need to switch off before the shot. Personal reason: a heavier bolt is a heavier bolt; momentum (m*v) is also a very strong factor of the stopping power of the weapon.

Lighter or heavier bolts fired from the same weapon hit with the same energy at the same short range, only as the bolt gets heavier so does the velocity drop., the energy put into them is the same by the weapon. Impact force only changes due to range and lighter bolts keeping velocity slightly longer where a heavy one will be running out of momentum. Also air resistance makes a small difference but the profile of a bolts diameter is a tiny difference , it's 2.75 squared x 3.142 vs 3.75 squared x 3,142 max. but as it's not flat cross section that's going to matter less than that. I bet the 3D boys wtiill be busy now. :

I don't think the bigger bolt has more energy because they're heavier. They're both are shot from the same crossbow with the same limb strength. They both have the same amount of energy imparted to the bolts. The heavier bolt just travel slower.
