I like how hyped the crowd was. At the same time it's just occurred to me that I haven't seen an interview of Lasha or the other lifters. I also think that just as we see gymnasts, track athletes swimmers, soccer players, football players and basketball players on the cover of magazines and on cereal boxes that same energy should go towards weightlifters. They put just as much effort, discipline and dedication into being the best they can be as any other athlete does. I'm not dissing any other athlete. I'm just saying I'd like to see weightlifters get the same recognition.

@@jmcsquared18 the alternate possibility being lasha totaling 500 at paris and retiring right there with his third olympic gold alongside other legends
@jmcsquared18 Жыл бұрын
@@kathirpagalavan6448 I just don't think that Lasha is gonna total 500. Just mathematically, it's not gonna happen. Lasha struggled on his 267 clean and jerk (it initially got two reds before the jury gave it back to him). If he one day snatches even 230, which would be completely mind boggling, he'd need to hit 270 on the clean and jerk to get to 500. If he doesn't snatch north of 225, it'd need to be 275 or more. That'd be the heaviest attempt ever, not just make, if he did make it. Now that he's suffered an injury, despite how he's still the best ever, he might be at his peak. Just raking in golds at this point, he'll eventually get 9 gold totals, or maybe double digit golds, which would be a historic first. But a 500 total seems out of reach now imo.
@Lazika617 Жыл бұрын
@@jmcsquared18 maybe you aren't up to date, despite his injury he recovered well and seems to be in phenomenal shape, I think being the strongest he ever was, he is already doing 250 CJ and 210 snatches while in training, I dont understand why people like you are always throwing doubt and shade twords these men, not too long ago many thought what Lasha already accomplished to be impossible as well, and yet here we are

I'm pretty new to Weightlifting so forgive the stupid question, but why was Lasha so completely out of breath? I get that it's a maximal effort lift but he was panting still 3 minutes after the lift which seems really weird to me. Did he have any issues going into this with conditioning or something? And do weightlifters do any GPP? Just curious, not trying to make fun or anything here, dude's a beast.
@nyquist_control Жыл бұрын
Yes, he has confirmed that he has a minor heart issue previously and recently his condition has been worsening. His body can only support so much mass so I hope he retires soon for the sake of his health. No human should be at 180kg, even for his frame, but that's the sacrifice he's made to get to this level.
@noncog111 ай бұрын
Steroids fuck up your heart, being very obese is hard on your heart, combine these two things with the absolutely enormous amount of energy it takes to move the weight he does, and this is where you land. Makes me concerned that his heavier lifts come from higher doses compared to the other athletes though. I'm not concerned with use if every one is on similar amounts, but if one athlete finds a way to skate by with heavier usage it's bad for the sport.
@Noodlyk1811 ай бұрын
