The Crown is one of those bands that has had a lot of unlucky things happening throughout their career, like shitty record deals, shitty management and difficulty with keeping members in the band. The Crown is an absolute gem, but few people know of them because they always stayed a small band, due to aforementioned unluck. If they'd had more things going for them, they would probably be as well known as At the Gates and Soilwork. Instead they remain a small band, with little success, playing small stages. But they are at least as good as their Swedish counterparts in the metal community.

It saddens me that so few know about this band. I've been a huge fan since '97 and I remember introducing them to my best mate and he was stricken with headbanging fever. We both were. He brought a tape with him when he went to New Zealand, always listening to The Crown (CoT as they were before the forced name-change) and he'd listen to it all the time until it wore too thin. Those days were the best, he said. I miss him and visit his grave often. You are sorely missed, my friend.

Consistency = they work to a very high standard. They don't allow the passage of time to remove quality of playing. Johans performance is excellent as is the whole bands. I'm so glad his pipes are still brutal. I also though the drummers triggers sounds bit "how you goin" but his performance was awesome.
