I used to love D-Wars, and when Warcradle picked up the system, I was super keen. As soon as the Britannia Battlefleet set was announced I ordered one, but then I also expanded quite a lot, just a shame no one else around here was as keen. I've been waiting for the Victory, but it's proving to be very hard to get here in Australia.

Crown is my favorite faction to play this far. Solid, reliable, fierce, and well ordered. They do require coordination due to speed & weapon choices. Love this game!

Very nice video! Been looking to get into DW myself, been considering the Crown with the Protecteur (rather than the Britannia - not that I don't like it, it's very nice, but I think I'd want a bit more variation for my first foray into naval wargaming), the Magenta Levant fleet for the Alliance, or maybe the Tianlong for the Empire.

You should be able too. Quite a lot of the Spartan British models can be used as stand ins for the Warcradle ones. Unless you are lucky enough to have that walking fortress...

I don't know anyone who plays Crown in my area. Commonwealth, Enlightened, I play Imperiam, and I think our play group has most of the big box factions. This needs to change.

I deserve a prize because I've recently had emergency surgery because my colon popped. My abdomen filled with pus and air and I needed 40cm of my colon removed and a temporary ass made on my abdomen. I'm recovering slowly and need distractions and something nice to happen. That's it, thank you for reading. Nice video, as always.

I actually prefer launching my torpedoes first with the crown if my opponent brought defensive generators: The torpedoes ignore any shield generators (being a submerged weapon) and you can never be obscured against them (as per torpedo rule), so the shroud generator also does nothing... That means those weapons can cut through enemy generators quite easily should they have them. If you are lucky, you can knock those generators out before you fire your other weapons If they don't have generators, you are better of firing your normal weapons first in the hopes of getting a "shredded defense" critical hit, so your opponent cannot defend against the submerged torpedo attacks.

Do you have any specific tactics for going up against the Prussia subfaction? I play them and want to know what to expect.

@@gmradio2436 against the Prussians, I would prioritize shooting any Arc type weapons. They bypass your guardian generators. If he brings a Konig ship: all torpedoes go into that one first.

In time Spartan produce Dystopian Wars my two favorite nation was Russians and Britaish, now Crown looks much better than Commonwhealth.

I love the look of this game - but I am starting to feel that the constant need for EVERY game to use a deck of cards to "add" special moves, or prevent events, etc, is just killing my enthusiasm. I might get this - but if I did, I would want to play without the cards - if the rules are good enough, it shouldn't need the cards.
