I made the mistake of converting my first Crux35 to walksnail... needless to say I bought another analog one and I remembered why I love this drone so much. So light, fast, quiet, efficient, CHEAP and FUN.

I was just shocked at how awesome and fun this looks! I have been flying for almost 2 years now and I consider myself a pretty good pilot and I have tried a lot of 3.5 inch kwads and this looks like one of the best there is! Using the Walksnail VRX on the HDZero goggles on low latency/high framerate mode is a HUGE improvement over the cobra x goggles. It is definitely flyable but latency takes some getting used to if youre used to HDZ and analog @@drelephanttube

Just converted my analog Crux35 to HDzero.. The Crux35 is my favorite too. This thing although somewhat more fragile than your heavy indestructible Fischer Price type quad but it fly's so well because it is so light. Fun ride and thank you.

Glad you're enjoying the crux! And yes, the single bottom plate design means a whole replacement unfortunately. The lightweight of the crux definitely has its pros and cons. But when it's up in the air flying it feels great! Thanks for the watch 😁

Insane skills. I'm an absolute beginner in fpv flying, got myself a radio in january and after enought simulator to have confidence,i went with the crux35 caddx peanut combo as well. unfortunately the peanut battery died after a day and doesn't hold charge for more than 5 minutes after disconnected my charger but the store sent me a caddx walnut as a replacement(now that the peanut is discontinued) the crux35 with the walnut and a 650mah battery weights 245g which is perfect as i live in the uk and can't get enough of flying it. Videos like this give me motivation to keep practicing and never give up :)

No way 😨 I love this camera.. The walnut looks pretty good though - how do you like it? Just a little heavy - The crux barely feels the peanut. @@MoeFPV I actually like the walnut better than the peanut because of it's shape so i can just soft mount it with a piece of hard foam and a battery strap. The picture quality is maybe just a tiny bit better on the walnut but the colors are superior on the peanut. I got to keep the peanut as well as it costs almost twice as much and bought a happymodel cine8 and now it lives on that. (Only flown once just to try it out if i can record more than 30 seconds with the camera hooked up to the drone's battery and it works.) Also i find the walnut more convenient cus it actually uses an sd card so i can just pop it in and out.

Interesting - I think mine was V2 as the FC was the updated one. I didn't pay enough attention to the frame but I did break an arm recently :( luckily pretty cheap frames to have spares of. Just a PIA to swap it sometimes 😅

You need the Walksnail goggles otherwise there is just too much latency and some goggles are worse then others over HDMI. I run mine at 720p 100fps and find the picture still looks amazing even compared to my HDZero goggles at 720p. Currently have the HDZero 90 FPS camera installed on my Crux but I'll be swapping a Walksnail into it so I can see branches again. For outdoors I absolutely love the CRUX35. With a 4s 850 pack I got 16 minutes of mild freestyle and some full throttle punch outs, the rest was flips/rolls as my space is limited. Voltage popped back to 3.6v after landing so it's definitely one of the most efficient quads with an awesome price tag. The only complaint I have seen is the bottom plate is weak right where the arms start near the center of frame due to an unused screw hole for 25x25 stacks but stock controller is 20x20. I have been considering making replacements that are slightly beefier while maintaining the light weight.

i just got the hd zero googles - im excited to see how much better the walksnail VRX preforms on them. I did break 1 crux frame so far. it was an arm but as you said the whole bottom plate needs to be replaced. I love the drone though - it does get a little blown around on a windy day but super efficient, fun and fast ! thanks for the comment

I SWEAR TO THE FPV GODs its not sped-up! This is the Caddx Peanut with 100% lens correction so the ultra-wide FOV makes it look a lot faster than it is. Basically, what you would get if you used that SUPERVIEW in a GOPRO. If you cover the sides of the image, you can get a sense for the actual speed of flight. Even if you don't believe me, I appreciate the comment, Dave!

It is a super fragile frame. But super cheap too. Replacement bottom plate is $11 and the whole frame kit is $18. For the price of a more expensive frame and 2 replacement arms, you can have 4-5 bottom plates and a whole replacement frame. At least that's my thinking.😅 I have been building these with $7 DarwinFPV 1504 motors 🔥🔥 from the Baby Ape II. Its a rocketship 🚀.

Nice pack. In the pocket the whole way. I messed up and got a Crux 35 with the internal FrSky rx built into the board. Thing flies great but range is about 50 yards! I’m hoping I can remove or bypass the D8 rx and put in a crossfire nano so I can send the thing.

You can go ELRS or Crossfire if you wanna spend the big bucks. Honestly you might have gone the best route as I believe the frsky version has 20A ESC fets vs the ELRS with 12A. I think the new V2's only difference is the controller now has 20A fets on the ELRS version.

thanks doug! you should definitely be able to disable the SPI FRSKy receiver and solder on your choice of RX. I did something similar with a whoop. Check the receiver tab in BF and it should be in there. Hope you enjoy - i love this drone. just put HD zero on it 😎

Sorry i missed this comment - Did you get yours in? How you liking it? I dont have much to change about it, TBH. Maybe you could upgrade the stock ANT camera to a baby ratel 2 if you wanted a bit higher quality image. Make sure you zip tie the battery lead down to the frame so it doesnt pull in the event of a crash. And maybe upgrade the stock battery pad and strap. Other than that man, enjoy!

Hey Brian - I actually grabbed this v2 of aliexprees before I even knew there was a V2 out lol just great timing. I think all the major carries like rdq and getfpv will have the V2 now. The easiest way for you to tell is that the FC has horizontal motor plugs now coming out the side vs the v1 the plugs came out the underside. If u were you, I'd just email the vendor just to be sure though

You could absolutely keep the stock setup and throw a vista in there - I actually think HappyModel sells a crux 35 HD with a vista already installed! If you were to do it yourself , I would wager the tune would need to change a bit to account for the extra weight but the drone could definitely handle it

@@Michael-nu6fb No problem at all. There are actually 3 versions LOL Crux 3 1s ELRS, Crux 3 2s, and Crux 35. All are good choices for the backard but the Crux 3 is the only 2s. 2s is perfect for the backyard in my opinion. I also enjoy 1s a lot - quiet, safe, and fun!

Sick rip dude. ❤ I love the crux myself. I had a failsafe though and it dropped and broke an arm. I bought a new frame and added ELRS receiver and she’s back up in the air, but I’m still not trusting the arms if I hit something. I was thinking of swapping everything over from the crux to an apex 3 inch frame I got. You think it will fit?

I also broke my crux 35 frame in a fairly minor crash. I love the way it flies bit it is very light and a bit fragile. The frames are cheap to replace but there is definitely a downside to having a single bottom plate. Make sure the mounting pattern is the same on the apex. I think it's 20x20 and the crux is 25x25. You can use adapters but it may be a bit more involved than a simple swap

On my current goggle setup (skyzone cobra x's), walksnail has too much lag for me to feel comfortable with. I am getting new goggles soon and plan to revisit the system. And i havent flew the HD zero version, but i am sure it would be great - at least, as far as lag is concerned

Sorry I missed this - I swear youtube doesn't notify me sometimes. This was on a 450. I usually fly 450s and 550s. Flight fine is over 4 MIN usually. I have two 850s but that's about the most I go. Very long flight times, probably close to 10 min or more

@@Hugo-kv7qf you can see the props when the light hits them and the camera is soft mounted. All this is is 100% lens correction in Gyroflow and stabilization set to OFF. So unless Gyroflow stabilizes footage outside of the "stabilization" setting, it's not. I can send you the raw file, if you'd like to see it 😉
