I was there at this gig. we were just in front of duffy, but got split up from my mates as you can imagine from the vid! I was 19 and it was my second time That i had seen the Cult, the first time was at NEC supporting Big Country in 1984. This vid brought the whole day flooding back. priceless, Thanx.

They are not underrated at all. MANY bands cite them as an influence. Just because they don't get played on "classic rock" radio doesn't mean they are "underrated". They are WELL RESPECTED and appreciated for what they did.

Britain's version of Jim Morrison , no wonder the Door's asked Ian to front for them in the mid-90s when they reunited.

Saw Ian with the Doors 21st Century and he nailed Jim Morrison vocals as well, with his own added flair. But, it was spot on...

that crowd was pumped up! and that has to be the ballsiest falcon i've ever heard. saw them three times around then, they were a straight ahead heavy rock outfit that did not come to town to practice. they leveled each and every time. also saw them 5 nights at the l.a. house of blues. got to tell billy what an influence he was. a gentlemen, but not when he's got a guitar strapped on. he's mean business with a les paul. believe that.

I was there, but was in the upper gallery, bought the ticket from Keith Prowse LTD, great concert, think I paid about £8 the two back up bands were either Bambi Slam, or The Gaye Bikers on acid, the other was Zodiac Mindwarp, very fitting for the nights headline band, I never noticed the guitarist under the arch in the background till late into the gig, thought he must have been left on stage from one of the other bands earlier,

@thepackage11 Not trying to bash them -- but don't you think by Electris and Sonic Temple, they started sounding more like other hard rock/metal bands out there? I've heard some people blame Rick Rubin for ruining them. I wouldn't got that far ...but I still say Love sounds totally unique -- unlike anything they, or pretty much anyone else, did.
