Bacchus pleasure seekers without restraint….alleged that there was migration from Egypt before the time of Moses by the tribe of Dan into region called Greece. Both the Danites and Phoenicians were shipbuilders and seafaring traders, located in same northern region, with similar interests, resultant intermarriages. Greek gods were the same Cain, Canaanite, Nimrod Babylonian gods [oracles, astrology, divination, necromancy, ritual sacrifices, orgies et al] transferred to different cultures thru name changes. There was remnant of Judah that rejected the Hellenistic polytheism and recognized Jesus as the Promised Redeemer. They were spiritually aware, not interested in political “salvation”. We owe a lot to the early followers of Jesus. Through them, the world received the Good News.
