Always amazed at the brilliance of these videos...all you want to know and fantastically detailed with exceptionally professional presentation. When we first started watching we were amazed it was not a mainstream media documentary due to the slick and efficient editing and sound quality. Such a pleasure to watch and so fascinating, the detail very informative and nicely paced with good side comments and reviews. One of the best reviews I've watched ever. You just put so much humor and care into it and it's just captivating to watch. So, I love the ports, especially the first one because I love quaint/charming small towns. The other ports were picturesque and that's wonderful as well. your stateroom is small but it has one quality to it that I'm glad to see. It's not taupe. The cabins on the new Princess, Celebrity and other ships are taupe. In fact, the Queen Anne doesn't suffer much from what I call the griege craze which I don't care for personally. I think the ship is fine. Yes, it's different than other Cunard ships but still, Bright Lights society and chart room and Commodore club are strong points. The atrium is so-so as is the Queens Room so the Queens Room would be the biggest let down as that's a true signature of Cunard. Still, it's way better than the Sun Princess and Celebrity Edge ships IMO, at least how they've defined their products. And your children do seem to enjoy the Cunard style. So young people can enjoy "traditional" cruising. Thanks much and I look forward to your views on HAL. It's the same ship, just with different decor and cruise style. Should be interesting. And Virgin. Well, that should be different!

Hi Bill. The ladies looked wonderous in their ball gowns, especially your daughter, her gown was "Magically Beautiful." After the Alaska voyage on Queen Elizabeth, this trip looks like a perfect follow-up. I think there would be more uproar if Cunard launched another Art Deco ocean liner’ish ship so this newer theme makes sense. Maybe the 250th ship they launch will be a real ocean liner that will eventually take the place of QM2? As always, you and your family make KZbin watching a joy.

Excellent video, very informative. You mentioned your family are Cunard fans. What do your children find to do on Cunard ships and do they find others their age to connect with? My children are 21-30 (unmarried) and I wonder if they will like it. It seems cruises target very young families or older couples, not many options for young adults. Thanks Bill!
@ritzytravelguide17 күн бұрын
Hi there. In all honesty it's myself and my Wife who are more the Cunard fans. But our son and daughter happily join us. They do though prefer if it's port intensive itineraries, so they are not at sea for days on end. I think that is the case in general for those 20 or 30 something...choose a port intensive cruise. Mediterranean itineraries would be good as all the ports are closed together, and they are pretty, with loads to do onshore. Likewise the Caribbean might appeal to a younger crowd

@SeaTravelr12318 күн бұрын
Ive been watching the series of videos on the Queen Anne.. Your reviews are pretty objective and honest. I was so disappointed to see how small your inside cabin was.. When I worked on QV, some of my favorite ladies had inside cabins on Deck 1.. They were very roomy... The big issue on QV, in the beginning, was storage space. But they had FAR more floor space than you guys did. Overall, I like the feel of Queen Anne, but I agree with you about the Queens Room. It seems very cheap in its furnishings. The main thing I find disturbing about Queen Anne is the "fake' plastic look of her funnel and the fact that it sits so low. It just throws the whole aethetic of the ship off.. and if it were on its own deck up one or two levels, the Grills blockage could be solved... ah well...
@ritzytravelguide18 күн бұрын
Hi there, many thanks for your thoughts and comments. Yes, we were surprised how tight the footprint is on Queen Anne, for inside cabins. It's a pity. Likewise the positioning of the Grills, effectively blocking through passage. We are currently sailing on Holland America Rotterdam, which is also a Pinnacle Class ship, and they dont have a Grills section, and therefore no blockage. Where the Queens Room is on Queen Anne, it's BB King on Rotterdam, and it's quite as a venue. There are several other differences between the 2, even though they share the same hull and structure. It's an interesting comparison.

I am no longer cruising constrained by Social Security though seeing this terrible accommodation I know not to consider Queen Ann. Really a terrible decision by the Project Team and Cunard. The larger more expensive cabin is also terrible. Vastly worse than my cabins on any ship. What a shame I imagine many people are disappointed.

If Cunard think they are competing with celebrity they are one million miles away. No atmosphere. Food not up to scratch. Service just so so Cabins was a Brittannia club and was ok bathroom better than other queens by still tiny as was the room still much smaller than a solstice class room on celebrity .
