A lot of people gave negative comments on how the show doesn't follow the plot of the game and about the changes but let's be clear on one thing, this is rated Y7 so of course there's going to be some changes. For example, instead of the Casino that we know an love from the start of the game is replaced with a Carnival since they didn't want to expose gambling in a kid's show.

I’ve watched the whole series in one sitting. I enjoyed the music and voice acting. The devil is so entertaining. And there’s a lot of tips to old cartoons and the game itself. I would love to see you guys watch the whole series and see if you can spot references sprinkled out

There isn't a bigger story this series follows. Well actually there is the plot with the devil, but he appears in only few episodes. The series is mostly episodic with closed short stories in every episode. But I think its maybe worth it for you to cover it whole (probably) because you have some kind of opinion on the cuphead game so you can make the comparison. Or just admire the animation

I'd personally describe the animation and artstyle being similar to the modern Mickey Mouse cartoon. A modern reinterpretation of rubberhose animation. Which makes sense since alot of people who worked worked on the modern Mickey Mouse cartoon worked on this show.

The Devil is also the best character for me :) I have to disagree with your assesment of the Cuphead character. He is likable, but he's just also much more of an impulsive and troublemaking kid than Mugman is.

I have been a fan of cuphead since the game came out years ago I've only been a fan of traditional style animation especially at the fleisher's the 1930s and 40s and with the series I really am glad they're going to be more episodes to come as well as the DLC this year

My friend and i both Loved Cuphead, like since it came out. neither of us played the game, we just really liked the characters. when the show got announced we were so hyped for it! -and then we had to wait a few years after it got announced, But then they announced the release date and the Hype train was back baybeee! And The show is SO GOOD we Love it and Now the only complaint is that we have to wait again because we watched all of them as soon as it came out XD

Between Castlevania, Arcane, this, and Devil May Cry in the future (and I guess DOTA but I don't think anyone cares about that) Netflix has been killing it with the animated adaptations of video games. I would say continue because even if you don't like it it's so short that it'll be over before you know it. Of course if you do like it that ends up being its biggest weakness. Still good though. Also will you ever do more Arcane or did you end up watching that in your own time?

[Alec]: I think we got on the Arcane train too late. There were so many other reactions by the time we got to it that we couldn’t get the traction we were hoping for. Also, 40-minute episodes are a bigger commitment (for both recording & editing), so timing played a factor. Haven’t watched more yet though, so never say never I suppose!

If y'all are worried about lack of continuity, I'd suggest watching at least episodes 5, 8, and 9. So far those are the only episodes following the "Devil wanting Cuphead's soul" plot

ah I always love seeing an old cartoon enthusiast react to cuphead. I hope you enjoy the rest of the series, its so great, you'll notice a lot of old techniques used in the 30's. The plot is like old cartoons, in which there are random every day hijinx, but like old cartoons, the plot from one episode is continued sometimes in multiple ones. to me, it's worth covering. It focuses on our characters of mugman and cuphead and the way they interact before delving into plot, but it's so worth it.;

Ya the show is fun. Only about 12 episode long so it's pretty short good for a binge. Have the brothers react to Arlo the alligator boy? It first was a animated musical on Netflix than it got its own show. The songs are great hits kind of wanted to see their reactions to the villan song in the last episode it's a banger. But I think they would have to react to the movie first since that introduce the characters and how they got to where they are at in the tv.

I don’t think you need to react to the rest of the series. It is a great homage to the 1930s Fleischer animation. But I view it more akin to Tom and Jerry in pacing and structure, with each episode being s self-contained story with possible overarching elements like the Devil.

I really like mugman he's my favorite of the two brothers and I really hope that in future episodes or parts of the Season he will get to be a breakout star like how the devil is...also PANCAKES, and man a Pig eating a hot dog...weirs yet cool. But also they change the fact that cup man loses his soul to the devil in a game rather than the casino I don't know why they change that I could seen is not really a bad thing for kids animation if it was smoking and drinking I can understand that but I Casino seems like an unnecessary change

I'm a little over half way through the show and it missed the mark a little for me, this show is really at it's best when the villains are singing songs, sadly that only seems to happen about once every other episode, the animation is still quite fun, but they really needed more songs, I really wish they could have had 2 an episode, because whenever there is a song it's just SO WONDERFUL.

Just finished season 1. It was... fine. Most of the episodes were passable. I quite liked a few of them (especially the first, the third, the fifth and the eight). The other ones were mostly "ok". Except episode 2 that was pretty bad. I would have liked more of King Dice, it's a shame he appeared in only one episode. The animation and the style are what really sold the show, because yeah, they are indeed pretty dope, but if those were downgraded, the show wouldn't be half as enjoyable. It's a pretty standard show. Could be worse, but could also have been a lot better. I know they probably wanted to do their own thing without being bond to the original game's story, but the game's concept would have made for a much more interesting narrative, I think.

It would've gotten painfully repetitive though. Go here, fight someone, get soul, bounce. Less of, y'know, a TV show and just the game without any interactivity. And with how angry people were that there wasn't a heavy focus on lore baiting, you know they would've flipped.

Maybe for each soul they could have participated to totally different challenges and games to overcome, in different places and scenarios. Kinda like Centaurworld season 1. It’s an ok show. The only really exceptional thing about it is the animation. The show is just like other modern cartoons in terms of story and jokes. Btw “spoilers” they deal with the devil”, I mean it’s the literally “storyline” in the game and even that’s barely a story.
