The Cure songs, especially the most pop oriented ones, are meant to be played by teenagers, as Robert Smith composed his best tunes with that teen soul (until age 30 or so)

Those kids stopping in the beginning made me smile way too much and feel really proud of the band. Even if they didn't stay, they were able to capture the attention of people who probably didn't know the song and just heard good music.

Me too I thought the same comparison: Dinosaur Jr cover is legendary, the famous b-side of "Freak Scene" Ep, but this is more "Curesque" :)) more in-the-mood...
